According to recent insider information, we might be looking at a wait of at least another year before we see the next instalment in the Assassin's Creed series, codenamed Hexe, hit the shelves. It seems that Assassin's Creed Hexe will likely launch in late 2027, at the earliest. This comes right after reports claimed that an official reveal for Assassin's Creed Hexe was imminent, which would normally indicate a release window that was approaching swiftly. Of course, these rumours were compounded by the leak of a DLC, which made fans hopeful that Hexe would launch earlier than many had anticipated. However, Assassin's Creed Hexe is still more than a year away from launch, according to the leaker who has a good track record of previous Assassin's Creed leaks. The game has gone through a tumultuous development cycle, and that has naturally pushed the game back from its original launch target, which was right around summer 2027.

I'm really interested to see how the console copes with some of Space Marine 2's more performance-heavy sequences, particularly when there are hundreds of Tyranids on-screen at once. It's due out this holiday season, publisher Focus Entertainment said. Splatoon Raiders We got a fresh look at the single-player Splatoon Raiders, due out on July 23. • While scammers leaning into the allure of playing GTA 6 as part of their efforts to spread malware isn't anything new - cybersecurity companies have been issuing warnings about it for months - there appears to have been an uptick in such behaviour following the latest GTA 6 leak. With speculation rampant as to what exactly the hackers known as Cyberleek may have access to, now is not the time to be downloading any files claiming to be GTA 6. It seems that these less-than-reputable folks are trying to cash in on the excitement surrounding the game by spreading malware disguised as downloads. If you come across files with names like "totallylegitgta6leakedbuild.exe," it's best to steer clear. What's Happening? Users on ResetEra and VPN service NordVPN, the latter of whom obviously have a vested interest in convincing people to think about taking more action to secure their PCs and browsing, claim to have observed an uptick in download links to alleged GTA 6 builds on piracy and torrenting sites. Because misinformation just piles atop misinformation nowadays, it also appears that one of the alleged dodgy GTA 6 leaked build listings being circulated on social media could just be a faked screenshot. Why You Should Be Cautious Here are a few reasons to think twice before hitting that download button: Increased Scamming Activity: With the buzz around GTA 6, scammers are more active than ever. Malware Risks: Downloading these files can lead to serious security issues for your device. Unverified Sources: Many of these downloads are from dubious sites, so you can't trust their legitimacy. It's always better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to your online security.
Ubisoft is stirring up some excitement with news about the next Ghost Recon game! Irina-Gabriela Popa, the live producer, has shared that they're aiming for "a fun, fresh experience" while keeping the core elements that fans love. We're talking tactical action, large-scale operations, and credible military storytelling, all centred around the iconic Ghost Unit. Alongside this announcement, Ubisoft is rolling out a significant update for Ghost Recon Wildlands. This update promises to enhance the gameplay experience, so it's definitely worth checking out if you're still diving into Wildlands. As a major free update, Last Rites refreshes the gameplay experience of Ghost Recon Wildlands, delivering a new story-driven mission in which the Ghosts must face off against a new antagonist, La Llorona, and her fanatic cult followers, Los Penitentes. They have nothing to lose, and they're wreaking havoc in Bolivia as La Llorona enacts revenge on those who have wronged her. It also marks the return of the challenging hunt for the iconic Predator. Finally, Last Rites brings a host of new community-driven gameplay updates designed to give players more in-game freedom than ever before. Ubisoft has launched a new Insider Program for Ghost Recon as it asks players to help it test the next game in the series. The company officially confirmed during its Ghost Recon 25th anniversary presentation that a new Ghost Recon is in development, then announced the launch of the Ghost Recon Insider Program. "For the past few years, we've been building the next chapter of Ghost Recon," live producer Irina-Gabriela Popa said during the presentation. "I'm really excited to share with you that now we're ready to put it to the test. "Because we want to deliver a fun, fresh experience that stays true to everything that defines Ghost Recon – tactical action, large-scale operations, credible military storytelling and, of course, the Ghost Unit." "To do it, we need your help", senior community developer Pierre Vincent added. "You can join our Insider Program, and what it means is you'll get early access to our Closed Tests. "Your feedback will help us balance, optimise and fine-tune the experience." The company has also launched a series-wide sale, offering discounts of up to 95% on previous Ghost Recon titles to celebrate the series' 25th anniversary. As part of this sale, however, players can claim Ghost Recon: Future Solider for free on the Ubisoft Connect store, an offer that will last until August 13. Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint will also be free to play on consoles and PC from today until August 10, but this will only be a limited free play period. The Future Solider offer allows players to keep the game. "If you're enjoying the free weekend ride and want to see your mission through in Wildlands or Breakpoint, or you want to recon some of the Ghost's past campaigns in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier or the original Ghost Recon, those games are on sale now for up to 95% across all platforms – Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft Connect and Steam," Ubisoft senior editorial communications manager Chris Watters said during Ubisoft's Ghost Recon 25th anniversary presentation.
It seems that Obsidian Entertainment is making some significant changes in its development plans. According to recent reports, the studio has decided to cancel the Avowed sequel to dedicate its resources to a new Fallout game. This decision comes as part of a broader restructuring within Xbox, which has seen numerous layoffs across various teams. The news, first reported by Bloomberg, indicates that Josh Sawyer, who previously worked as the lead designer and project director on the beloved Fallout: New Vegas, will be at the helm of this new project. Interestingly, Sawyer was initially working on a different RPG that shared structural similarities with Fallout before this shift in focus. While this might be disappointing for fans eagerly awaiting Avowed 2, there is a silver lining. A small team at Obsidian will continue to work on Avowed 2 with the hope of reviving the project in the future. For many fans of the Fallout franchise, this news is likely to be met with excitement. Fallout: New Vegas remains a fan-favourite, and it's been quite some time since we've seen a new mainline single-player Fallout game. The last major release was Fallout 4 in 2015, followed by Fallout 76, which took the series in a different direction as an MMO-style game. Additionally, the ongoing live-action Fallout TV series on Prime Video has reignited interest in the franchise, further fuelling the desire for a new single-player game. With Bethesda currently focused on developing The Elder Scrolls 6, it seems that a new Fallout game from them could be quite a while away. While the cancellation of Avowed 2 may be disappointing, the prospect of a new Fallout game from Obsidian is certainly something to look forward to.
As excitement builds around the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI, it seems that some less-than-honest individuals are trying to take advantage of eager fans. Reports indicate that scams targeting GTA enthusiasts are on the rise, with grifters aiming to steal personal information and money from unsuspecting players. Fake GTA VI beta keys & subscription traps Of all the cons currently being pulled, fake GTA 6 beta keys are among the most prevalent. Primarily, these sort of scams will begin by offering you access to the beta via an online form. It should go without saying that unsolicited online forms should be ignored, but Nord has seen these scams use social engineering tactics, such as 'Are you a bot?' checks, to try to convince users of their legitimacy. Those who've filled in the form are then pushed towards downloading an app, or signing up to a paid subscription with terms that make it difficult to get out of. Scams like this rely on FOMO and curiosity, but the reality is that Rockstar hasn't announced ANY public beta. You won't be missing out on anything by simply ignoring these forms — so close the tab and walk away. Trojanized repacks targeting Windows PC Perhaps the most sophisticated GTA 6 scam known to be in circulation involves Trojan viruses, which are generally spread via piracy or 'repacking' sites (used to distribute compressed versions of video games). By mimicking the look and function of authentic installers (hence the name Trojan), scammers are tricking users into triggering DLL sideloading attacks on their own devices. Once started, the Trojan attack begins to inject malicious files into the target device, and depending on how it's been coded, can lead to the malware altering system memory, making root-level changes, or even connecting to external servers to download additional viruses. Android adware presented as a GTA 6 Beta Nord also notes that Android mobile users are being targeted by an illegitimate 'GTA 6 Beta' app that's currently found on the Google Play Store. Although it looks convincing, the app is far from trustworthy, and if you were to click on its 'Download OBB' link, you'd be sent through a series of known malicious domains, linked to infostealers, banking trojans, adware, and ransomware sites. Again, there is no authentic GTA Beta App for Android, iOS or any other mobile operating service. If you see an advert for one, simply ignore it. So, how can you protect yourself from these scams? Here are some straightforward tips to keep in mind: 1. Be Wary of Unofficial Sources Always ensure that you are getting information from reputable and official channels. If a website or social media account claims to have insider information or early access to the game, double-check its authenticity. 2. Avoid Sharing Personal Information Never provide sensitive information such as your credit card details, passwords, or personal identification to anyone claiming to offer special deals or access to the game. 3. Look for Red Flags Watch out for offers that seem too good to be true. If a deal promises free access to the game or exclusive content for a minimal fee, it's likely a scam. 4. Use Secure Payment Methods When making purchases, always use secure payment methods that offer buyer protection. This adds an extra layer of security in case something goes wrong. 5. Report Suspicious Activity If you encounter a scam or suspicious activity, report it to the relevant authorities or platforms. This helps protect others in the community from falling victim to similar schemes. Make sure to doublecheck URLs before clicking them. If something seems off, copy and paste the URL into a link checker like Cloudflare's, which will let you know if it's safe or not. By staying vigilant and following these tips, you can enjoy the anticipation of Grand Theft Auto VI without falling prey to scams.

So, it seems like Rockstar Games has found itself in the middle of another hacking incident, and this time the hackers are making some pretty bold claims. They've issued a ransom demand, which is always a worrying sign. The news broke that a hacking group had gained access to their systems, allegedly using a third-party tool called Anodot to pull off the breach. Details of the Breach From what I gather, the hackers managed to snag some authentication tokens, which gave them access to some internal systems. They're claiming to have obtained various types of data, including financial and player information, but Rockstar's response is quite reassuring. They've stated that only a "limited amount of non-material company information" was accessed and that it won't affect the company or its players in any way. Here's a snippet from their statement: "We can confirm that a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed in connection with a third-party data breach. This incident has no impact on our organisation or our players." Sounds confident, doesn't it? History of Breaches This isn't the first time Rockstar has faced such an issue. You might remember the big leak in 2022, when a teenager hacked the company and released a bunch of GTA 6 development materials. That incident was also tied to a third-party application, which raises questions about the security measures in place. It's a bit concerning, really, especially since the hacking group has threatened to leak more if their demands aren't met by the 14th of April. They've been pretty dramatic about it, stating, "Make the right decision. Don't be the next headline. FINAL WARNING: PAY OR LEAK." Despite the hackers' claims, Rockstar appears to be downplaying the severity of this latest incident. Let's hope they manage to keep things under wraps this time. For those interested, you can find more details here.
The recent developments surrounding Steam's user interface signal a significant shift in user experience, particularly for the Steam Workshop. Valve has rolled out a beta version aimed at enhancing the browsing experience, continuing their trend of widening UI elements initiated last year. As detailed in their blog post, this beta introduces several key features. The most visually striking change is the increase in preview image sizes for items, making it easier for users to view content at a glance. Moreover, the filtering process has been optimised for speed, allowing quicker updates when users apply different sort orders. For developers, there are enhancements that enable more specific filtering for various item types within the Workshop. Another noteworthy addition is the quick view option, represented by a magnifying glass icon, which allows users to engage with item details - such as screenshots, favorites, and voting - without navigating away from the current page. This is particularly beneficial for mobile and Steam Deck users, as the new layout is designed to be more responsive across different devices. Valve has indicated that this beta could last from weeks to months as they gather feedback and work out any potential issues. They also plan to update more Workshop pages in the future, although a timeline for those changes has not yet been established. These updates reflect Valve's commitment to improving the Steam Workshop experience, with a focus on usability and accessibility for all users.
Ubisoft has reportedly shifted the focus of Red Storm Entertainment, the renowned studio behind the Ghost Recon series, to a tech support role, resulting in the layoff of 105 staff members. This change marks a drastic shift for a studio that has played a pivotal role in adapting Tom Clancy's works into video games since its founding in 1996. The studio, acquired by Ubisoft in 2000, has been instrumental in developing several key titles, including Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon. However, in recent years, the franchise's development has largely been handled by other Ubisoft studios, which left Red Storm primarily working on VR projects like Assassin's Creed Nexus VR and Werewolves Within. The layoffs come amidst a broader wave of cancellations and restructuring within Ubisoft, including the cancellation of projects like the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake and the closure of several development offices. Ubisoft has cited a need to adapt to a "persistently more selective AAA market and an increasingly competitive shooter landscape" as the driving force behind these changes. The transition of Red Storm into a support studio raises concerns about the future of the Tom Clancy franchise and reflects the ongoing challenges facing the gaming industry. With the market continuously evolving, how will companies like Ubisoft navigate these turbulent waters?
As we anticipate the next generation of gaming consoles, recent leaks suggest a compelling hardware showdown between Microsoft's Project Helix and Sony's PlayStation 6. However, the conversation may be missing a critical context - these consoles could cater to distinct audiences rather than reignite the console wars of the past. From the leaked specifications, it's clear that both Microsoft and Sony are relying on AMD's latest hardware. Microsoft appears to have a performance edge with a more expansive memory interface and a robust neural processing unit (NPU). Yet, despite the hardware differences, history suggests that raw specs alone do not dictate real-world performance or user experience. Interestingly, the upcoming consoles are likely to integrate advanced machine learning (ML) technologies for enhanced graphics, which could blur the lines between their capabilities. Both platforms seem to be aiming for similar gaming experiences, albeit with different approaches to hardware utilisationprior. Sony is reportedly focused on delivering groundbreaking gaming experiences rather than engaging in direct competition with Microsoft. Meanwhile, Microsoft's strategy appears to embrace a broader gaming ecosystem, targeting not only console users but also the PC gaming community through its Project Helix initiative. This shift in focus suggests that the next generation may not be about who has the superior console but rather how each platform serves its intended audience. Microsoft seems to be positioning itself as a bridge from console to PC gaming, while Sony may itise creating unique gaming experiences. As we await further insights from GDC, it remains crucial to consider the implications of these developments for gamers. The future of console gaming may not hinge on hardware specs alone but on how well each company can deliver on their respective visions.
Ubisoft has recently unveiled the first concept art for the highly anticipated remake, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, confirming what many fans have speculated for years. This announcement was made through a blog post detailing the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise, including updates on current titles and projects in development. The Black Flag remake is expected to launch later this year, though it is amid a broader strategy shift within Ubisoft as they wind down post-launch support for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Notably, the new entry, Codename Hexe, appears to be further down the line. The official title, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, was first hinted at through a European ratings board listing back in December, following a series of internal leaks and fan speculation. This remake promises significant enhancements, elevating the visual and gameplay quality to match more recent installments in the series. While the remake aims to expand on the life of protagonist Edward Kenway, it reportedly omits the modern day gameplay segments that have been a staple of the franchise, a decision that has sparked mixed reactions among the community. The change raises questions about how Ubisoft will handle the narrative's conclusion, which previously interwove historical and modern-day elements. As of now, Ubisoft has indicated that this game is set for release before the end of their current financial year, although delays have pushed its launch into the next fiscal cycle. For those interested in the evolution of the beloved Assassin's Creed series, the Black Flag remake represents both a nostalgic return and a fresh direction. Ubisoft confirms Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced remake. First concept art released, indicating a focus on visual and gameplay upgrades. Expected release later this year, following delays and corporate restructuring. Modern-day gameplay segments reportedly removed, causing fan debates. New content will explore Edward Kenway's story more deeply.
Ubisoft has recently provided an update on the Assassin's Creed franchise, signaling some intriguing developments. Under the guidance of new head of content Jean Guesdon, the company is steering the series in a "unique, darker" direction, particularly with the upcoming title, Codename Hexe. One of the standout features of Hexe will be its narrative focus, set against the backdrop of the Holy Roman Empire and its infamous witch trials. This shift suggests a deeper, more complex storytelling approach, diverging from the more formulaic narratives of previous entries. In addition to Hexe, Ubisoft is also making strides with its multiplayer project, Codename Invictus. Contrary to rumours, this project is not merely a casual party game; rather, it's being developed by veterans from the For Honor team and is progressing steadily with a "test and learn" methodology. While specifics remain under wraps, the emphasis appears to be on innovative gameplay rather than traditional multiplayer formats. Ubisoft has hinted at a revival of co-op gameplay within the franchise, having experimented with this feature in previous titles. The post-launch support for Assassin's Creed Shadows is winding down but promises a few surprises. Lastly, speculation regarding a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag continues to swirl, with Ubisoft remaining coy about its status. While fans eagerly await confirmation, the company's playful hints leave room for hope. Overall, Ubisoft is not only expanding the Assassin's Creed universe but also revitalising its approach to storytelling and multiplayer experiences.
The anticipation for a new entry in the Wolfenstein series has been building, especially after the long wait since "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" was released in 2017. Recent reports indicate that development on "Wolfenstein 3" has commenced, with casting calls now underway, suggesting that fans might soon see the conclusion of this beloved trilogy. According to a report by Mp1st, the project, codenamed Valkyrie, is being led by notable figures from MachineGames, including performance director Tom Keegan and casting director Emily Schweber. One intriguing aspect of the casting is the role of a young girl named Sofiya, who could have ties to protagonist BJ Blazkowicz's backstory. Described as an orphan raised by the resistance, Sofiya is said to be a strong-willed survivor, aged between 8 and 11, and she will reportedly have a dog named Ralph as a companion throughout the campaign. This addition hints at a shift in gameplay dynamics, potentially introducing a child companion mechanic that could influence storytelling and player engagement. MachineGames director Jerk Gustafsson has previously expressed a desire to return to the Wolfenstein franchise to wrap up the trilogy. While the studio has been busy with other projects, including "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," Gustafsson reassured fans that their intention to complete the series remains strong. He emphasised the importance of innovation while staying true to the studio's roots in narrative-driven first-person gameplay. Additionally, whispers of another project in the works—a multiplayer game akin to Ubisoft's "Rainbow Six Siege"—have surfaced, although details remain scarce. As we await more concrete information, it seems that the future of Wolfenstein is looking promising. The prospect of a new companion dynamic and a focus on storytelling could bring fresh experiences to both long-time fans and newcomers to the series.
The anticipation surrounding Assassin's Creed Hexe is palpable within Ubisoft, with reports indicating that "everyone at Ubisoft" is eager to contribute to this project. This enthusiasm stems from early impressions of the game, which is expected to mark a return to a more focused narrative approach, contrasting with the expansive RPG-style formats seen in recent titles like Valhalla. Despite some concerns following the departure of creative director Clint Hocking, Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson reassures fans that development is progressing well, and that Hexe is shaping up to be a standout title for the company. The game is rumored to be set in 16th century Germany during the witch trials, featuring a protagonist with supernatural abilities, which could introduce unique gameplay elements reminiscent of previous titles. Ubisoft has promised that Hexe will offer a distinct experience within the Assassin's Creed franchise, with expectations for a gameplay reveal still pending. However, the release is not expected until 2027, after the anticipated Black Flag remake and Invictus multiplayer spin-off. Key Themes: High enthusiasm for Hexe among Ubisoft staff. A return to a more linear narrative style. Set during the witch trials in 16th century Germany, with supernatural elements. Development is progressing despite changes in leadership. Expected release potentially in 2027.
The official Call of Duty X/Twitter account has refuted recent rumours regarding a standalone Zombies game, which were speculated to coincide with the launch of the next generation of Xbox consoles. This quick denial came just hours after the rumours surfaced, marking an unusual departure from the franchise's typical approach of remaining silent on such matters. Historically, Call of Duty has rarely directly addressed rumours about their upcoming titles, often opting for a more nebulous communication strategy. The recent assertion by the franchise stands in contrast to the claims made by known leaker TheGhostofHope, who has previously been accurate in their predictions. The outcome of this discourse remains uncertain, as fans weigh the credibility of Call of Duty's statement against the leaker's reputation. Additionally, this statement follows a broader trend within the franchise, as Call of Duty has recently acknowledged the mixed reception of Black Ops 7 and announced a shift away from annual back-to-back releases for their Modern Warfare and Black Ops titles. They emphasized a commitment to meaningful innovation rather than incremental changes, though specifics on future plans are still forthcoming.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed that two new Far Cry games are currently under development, as stated by CEO Yves Guillemot. This announcement comes during a recent interview with Variety, where the executive discussed the company's strategic restructuring aimed at enhancing its flagship franchises. Guillemot highlighted that Vantage Studios, a new subsidiary in collaboration with Tencent, is set to speed up the development of major titles, including multiple projects under the Assassin's Creed brand. Notably, the upcoming Far Cry games are generating significant anticipation among fans. One of the titles, codenamed Project Blackbird, will feature a non-linear storyline involving a kidnapping scenario that players must resolve within a 72-hour time limit. The second project, Project Maverick, is expected to be a standalone multiplayer experience set in the Alaskan wilderness, featuring mechanics such as permadeath and a contract system. On the Assassin's Creed front, while several games are confirmed, including Project Hexe and a remake of Black Flag, reports indicate that two titles were recently cancelled, including a virtual trading card game titled Assassin's Creed Singularity. This cancellation seems to be a part of Ubisoft's broader efforts to streamline its offerings. Additionally, Ubisoft is venturing into multimedia with an anthology series based on Far Cry, featuring Rob McElhenney from Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Despite the positive developments, it's worth noting that Ubisoft has faced challenges, including layoffs at some of its studios.
Recent rumours indicate that the release of Sony's PS6 could be delayed until 2028 or even 2029, primarily due to ongoing shortages and rising prices in RAM, which have affected both Sony and Nintendo. According to a Bloomberg report, these companies are closely monitoring the volatile memory market, which could significantly alter their hardware release strategies. Sony's potential delay would mark a departure from their original 2027 launch plans. Notably, the PS6 is rumoured to feature substantial specs, including 30 GB of GDDR7 RAM. This ambitious design could be heavily impacted by current RAM prices, which might lead to a shift in Sony's approach to maintaining user engagement and market presence. On the other hand, Nintendo may also consider raising the price of the upcoming Switch 2 in light of the same RAM shortages. Company president Shuntaro Furukawa has acknowledged the need to keep an eye on memory prices and other international factors such as trade tariffs. Although Nintendo has not yet experienced memory shortages, the possibility for price adjustments remains. Both companies are navigating a challenging landscape, where the cost and availability of components directly influence their production and pricing strategies. This situation underscores the broader implications of the current chip crisis affecting the gaming industry, with even companies like Valve facing delays due to similar issues.
The 29th Annual DICE Awards held in Las Vegas showcased the remarkable achievements in the gaming industry, with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerging as the star of the night. This title clinched five awards, including the coveted Game of the Year, solidifying its status as a critical darling since its April 2025 release. The game's development team was also honoured with the title of Knight in the French Order of Arts and Letters for their exceptional contributions to interactive entertainment. Noteworthy mentions include Ghost of Yotei, which took home three awards, and Arc Raiders, recognised as the Online Game of the Year. Additionally, the late Vince Zampella, co-creator of Call of Duty, was honoured by industry luminaries like Hideo Kojima and Phil Spencer, reflecting on his significant impact on gaming. In a troubling turn of events for fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise, Ubisoft has reportedly cancelled an online cooperative game that was initially intended as DLC for the latest instalment, Assassin's Creed: Shadows. This news comes on the heels of the company's recent decisions to cancel several other projects, including the highly anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, and to propose significant layoffs at its Paris headquarters. According to reports from French outlet Origami, the game, codenamed "AC League," was being developed by Ubisoft Annecy and aimed to feature four assassins working collaboratively through various missions. This would have been a first step toward establishing a broader range of multiplayer experiences within the series. However, concerns about the game's development timeline led the directors at Ubisoft Annecy to ultimately pivot from a DLC approach to a standalone title. Sadly, just last week, the team was informed that AC League had been shelved altogether. While some staff are now focusing on leveraging the technical advancements made during development for future games, many are left feeling uncertain about their roles within the company amidst these ongoing challenges. This cancellation is more than just another game lost; it reflects the broader struggles Ubisoft is facing, including worker discontent that has led to calls for international strikes. The implications of such decisions extend beyond the gaming community, touching the livelihoods of those who dedicate their talents to these projects. As we discuss this topic, it's crucial to express solidarity with the affected employees and consider the future direction of such iconic franchises.
I've been scrolling through Twitter lately, and I keep seeing people raving about certain game franchises, and honestly, I just don't get it. Like, some of these games seem to be more about nostalgia than actually being fun to play. Sure, the graphics can look nice, but the gameplay? Not so much. It feels as if you say anything against these franchises, you're immediately met with a bunch of angry fans online. So, I thought I'd throw this out there: what do you all think is the most overrated game franchise of all time? Here are a few that come to mind: Call of Duty - Seriously, how many times can they recycle the same formula? I remember buying one, playing it for a couple of weeks, and then it just sat there collecting dust. The graphics might be decent, but the gameplay doesn't really evolve. FIFA - Man, I've been playing FIFA since the PS2 days, and I can't help but feel like it's just more of the same each year. The scripting nonsense drives me up the wall! Sometimes I wonder if I should just stick to FIFA 17 because the newer ones feel like a letdown. Assassin's Creed - The earlier games had their charm, but now it feels more like a chore with all the side quests. I mean, who wants to spend hours doing busy work? Pokémon - Don't get me wrong, I loved Pokémon as a kid, but the same cycle just doesn't hit the same now that I'm older. I tried a new one on the Switch, and the nostalgia faded pretty quickly. So, what do you guys think? Are there any franchises that you feel have really overstayed their welcome? Or maybe some still hold a special place in your heart? Let's chat about it! I'm curious to hear your thoughts and experiences.
