The Athletic have created a challenge, it's called "The all-time World Cup XI challenge".

No, it's not simply picking the greatest XI in World Cup history. That would be far too easy.

Instead, you can only pick one player from any given nation.

Lets see what your XI would be...............

I saw this yesterday and it is really difficult when you can only pick one player from a country

Do you choose Beckenbauer over Matthaus, Klose, Kahn, Gerd Muller, Breitner etc. Xavi or Iniesta. Messi, Maradona or Kempes?
