Moscow jails activist for 25 years for opposing Ukraine war

Vladimir Kara-Murza's harsh sentence is the longest yet given to political opponent of Vladimir Putin

A court in Moscow has sentenced the opposition activist Vladimir Kara-Murza to 25 years in prison, in one of the most high-profile cases to date of a Russian dissident being jailed for opposing the invasion of Ukraine.

Kara-Murza, who holds Russian and British citizenship and studied at the University of Cambridge, was detained in April 2022 and charged with spreading false information about the Russian army in Ukraine. He was later also charged with high treason over a series of public speeches he made that criticised Kremlin policies and the war in Ukraine.

Danish media have reported on the nordstream attacks. Turns out the area had been crawling with Russian military ships in the weeks and months prior to the bombing, all operating as "ghost ships" of course. And several, including at least one with u boat capacity, where within hundreds of metres from the site, just one day prior to the explosion.

Shocking news, I know 🙄

Russia claims Ukraine was behind drone attack on Kremlin and states it was an assassination attempt.

I'm assuming that is evidence in favour of an argument that the drone attack was a Russian false flag to announce they had "no choice" but to go after Zelensky again?

Their propaganda is seriously lacking in credibility outside their own country, and even friendly nations must have to just nod along when Medvedev and Co go on these outbursts.

I think Russia were preparing for this kind of false flag attack to justify further mobilisation. Looks like it is the case.

The blame game continues from Moscow today.

Washington is "definitely" behind the alleged assassination attempt on Vladimir Putin yesterday, the Kremlin has said.

Moscow claimed two drones attempted to attack the Kremlin, but were disabled and failed to cause any damage.

Russia has multiple response options, it said, but declined to comment on whether Volodymyr Zelenskyy was a legitimate target.

The Kremlin claimed the US was selecting the targets and Ukraine was merely implementing American plans, without providing evidence.

They are desperate to take Bakhmut (or rather completely destroy whatever is left of the western part of it) before the 9th.

Apparently, Kadyrov proudly offered to take those positions Wagner is leaving on May 10th. Today Prigozhin thanked him and contacted his representatives to transfer those positions.

Why do I have the feeling that Kadyrov and his TikTok army didn't really think that Prigozhin would accept that offer

If Kadyrov really goes into Bakhmut, he'll be destroyed in a couple of weeks probably. He has neither the men, the will, the experience nor the equipment Wagner have. But probably he'll find a way to wriggle out of it, even if he'll have to beg Putin.

Be interesting to see if the cowardly gnome turns up to his own Red Square parade. I guess we will know if he does, that the drone attack was likely a false flag.

Just watched Putin's Victory Day Parade speech - he's so paranoid and full of shit.

It didn't sound like a speech of someone pivoting or looking for a way out but some Western "leaders" are deluding themselves up to this day. Only a total Ukrainian victory can end this terror once and for all.
