Well done to the Chiefs. Really feel for the 49ers, but that's just championship material. Mahomes something else.

SF fecked it, Mahomes is unreal.

Great players come to the fore when the pressure is on.

Really great game in the end, so dramatic and amazing performance from Mahomes.

Exceptional that from Mahomes. He's ridiculous.

Such a gripping game. The entire second half and OT had me on the edge.

And yeah, Mahomes...

Three points was never going to be enough.

Kyle Shanahan is supposed to be a offensive genius, he's got in positions to win 3 Super Bowls as a coordinator and head coach and won none of them. Some of his play calling was very questionable today.

Kyle Shanahan is an all time bottler, his stats for the 2nd half of Super Bowl games are pathetic.

They lost the game at the start of the 3rd with 6 straight passes I believe, with the best RB in football it's unforgivable.

Well done to the Chiefs, they were terrible in the first half but figured it out and ultimately turned things around. Mahomes was insane in the 4th quarter and overtime. And the Chiefs did all this in a rebuilding year. Impressive.

It was sensational from Mahomes in OT, after not doing much for 3 & 1/2 quarters, he came alive when it was crunch time. Marching down the field like that in OT will be one of the iconic moments of his career. It looked like he was going to go claim the winning TD for himself at one point.

Following the team's Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs, some San Francisco players told reporters they were unaware of the overtime rules that allowed for both teams to possess the ball. It was the second Super Bowl to go into overtime, but it was the first with the revised postseason rules that ensured both teams would get the ball.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan elected to take the ball first, prioritizing setting the 49ers up with the ball on a potential all-important third possession of overtime if the game remained tied after each team's opening drive. But it never got that far, and his decision has been subject to plenty of scrutiny from those on the outside looking in.
That is strange, if true.

Given Shanahan's explanation and the defense being gassed, it was right to take the ball. A TD by the 49ers would have put a ton of pressure on the Chiefs. Once they elected for the 3 points the Chiefs knew it was 4 downs all the way.
