SILENT HILL 2
Having received a letter from his deceased wife, James heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her...

"My name… is Maria," the woman smiles. Her face, her voice... She's just like her.

Experience a master class in psychological horror―lauded as the best in the series―on the latest hardware with chilling visuals and visceral sounds.

With ray tracing and other cutting-edge technical enhancements, the world of SILENT HILL and its unsettling ambience is even more real than before.

And with the inclusion of new, immersive soundscapes, you'll feel like you're standing in the thick of it.

Explore locations and buildings that were once inaccessible, or are newly added in the remake.

Enjoy the same acclaimed story, even while you experience the town of Silent Hill with fresh eyes across an expanded map.

The remake moves from the original's fixed-camera viewpoints to an over-the-shoulder perspective, putting you closer to what James sees, for a more thrilling, more immersive experience as you explore the town and come face-to-face with monsters.

Familiar weapons like the steel pipe and handgun make their return, but now with an updated combat system.

Avoid attacks with carefully timed dodges, aim down sights, and more, making monster encounters more engaging and nerve-wracking than ever.

I know a lot of people don't have faith in the Bloober team, but they are working with some original people, I am cautiously optimistic.

Genuinely finding it terrifying, I can't play for an extended period because the anxiety if through the roof.
I love it. That was the magic of the original. Resident Evil was the action survival horror but Silent Hill was the horror survival horror that was actually creepy as feck.

I must have completed the original 4-5 times back in 2001-2002, it was one of my favourite games, and this remake is absolutely terrifying, I love it, in a masochistic kind of way.

The tension, unnerving atmosphere, and insanely good sound design is killing me, never have I needed to take frequent breaks from playing a game like I have with this remake, and I've only just done the Blue Creek Apartments.

No game comes close to the terror in this, original Silent Hill games, P.T, Dead Space, Outlast, Soma, Amnesia, RE Series, Alien Isolation are all a cakewalk in comparison.

Someone really missed the point or hadn't bothered to pay attention to the game in this review. Some spoilers but it really reads like someone who hasn't a notion of nuance and wants everything actually explained in a neat little package.

Oof, that's an awful take. Completely missed the point of the sexualized enemies.

I got round to picking this up today, twice (PC and a physical copy for the PS5). I'm currently downloading it on Steam now.

It looks like the haptics work on PC with the controller wired, so best of both worlds.

It seems that the awaited Xbox release of the Silent Hill 2 Remake is just around the corner. Earlier this month, the exclusivity period for PlayStation 5 ended, leading to the recent ESRB rating for the game on Xbox Series X|S, which carries a Mature 17+ designation. Although no specific release date has been announced, the expiration of the PS5 exclusivity suggests we may not have to wait long.

With rumours swirling about an upcoming Xbox Partner Preview event in November, expectations are high that Silent Hill 2 will make its grand appearance on the platform. According to gaming journalist Jez Corden, this showcase will predominantly feature Xbox Play Anywhere titles, including recent additions like Silent Hill F, hinting at a prominent reveal for the Remake.
