Looking forward to this one. Sadly, it has been delayed until the end of the year.

The Precinct will be released on May 13 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Until now, players have only been able to play a demo but Fallen Tree Games has finally confirmed when they'll be able to dive into this open-world urban sandbox and fully explore the streets of Averno City.

Out now, anyone playing?

I'm waiting to hear how much depth it is and if the missions get repetitive before dropping the money.

I'm definitely interested in the reviews at that price for digital. I have similar concerns about depth and repetition. Have been burned with this type of game before, so didn't pre-order.

Here's what some reviews are saying about The Precinct so far:

Push Square

"The Precinct is an impressive sandbox romp. Fueled by a dynamic crime system that offers up hours of fun, bite-sized objectives, it's a very difficult game to put down. Every patrol is different, and although tedium does start to set in as the campaign approaches its conclusion, it's still easy to appreciate the intricate and tight design of this ode to old cop movies."

KeenGamer

"While not perfect in execution, The Precinct's boldness in tackling so many different aspects of police work needs to be admired. Averno City is a fun sandbox to cause chaos in with so many hilarious criminal encounters."

IGN

"The Precinct's focus on proper arrest protocols and penalising excessive force requires a certain level of patience that not everybody will possess (and it's a system that eventually wears out its welcome) but I genuinely enjoyed prowling the city for procedural crimes while the story lasted – and the soggy, neon-splashed '80s setting works wonders."

Checkpoint Gaming

"The Precinct is a campy love letter to '80s cop dramas, blending street-level patrols with high-speed chases in an open world. While it nails the tone with stylish set-pieces, exciting car chases, and a synthy soundtrack, the clunky implementation of mechanics and shallow upgrades hold back its more simulated gameplay."

DualShockers

"During my entire playthrough of The Precinct, the things that bothered me the most were rarely the base game, but the elements layered over it. This could have been a great, unassuming game about checking parking meters and occasionally trading shots, but the need to add more bombastic elements waters down the parts where The Precinct actually excels."

PCGamesN

"Unable to decide whether it's more interested in modeling either the action movie image of a cop or the less exciting, often disconcerting realities of the job, the game fails to find much worth simulating in either area."
