Ok, the McLarens are driving away now but need 25 seconds to make up and after their first pitstop they will end up in traffic. They did not think this through I reckon.

Alonso could be the hero McLaren need. They need to come out before him or they are caught in a DRS train.

That could have worked out a lot worse for McLaren. They could well finish 2nd and 3rd here.

Comfortable win for Max. McLaren got it wrong by not pitting under the safety car. They were helped out massively with Alonso going slow when they did pit, if they had been behind the DRS train they would have struggled to finish in the top 5. Norris also got lucky getting past Antonelli - I'm not sure what happened there - those 2 points could be crucial as he can finish 3rd in Abu Dhabi and still be champion.

Max Verstappen's win lifts him above Oscar Piastri and into second place, just 12 points behind Norris. Piastri is 16 points behind his McLaren team-mate with 25 points left to play for.
