The Rocky franchise is a celebrated American sports drama series centred on boxer Rocky Balboa, spanning nine films and a cultural legacy that continues with the Creed spin-offs.

Overview
Created by Sylvester Stallone, the franchise began with Rocky (1976), depicting the life of a small-time Philadelphia boxer who gets a once-in-a-lifetime chance to fight world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) for the title. The original film won Best Picture at the Academy Awards and established Rocky as a symbol of the underdog spirit and the American Dream. Stallone wrote all the sequels and directed four of them, with John G. Avildsen returning to direct Rocky V

I voted Rocky in the poll "Which is the best film in the Rocky franchise?".

The answer should be obvious. Rocky remains one of the most iconic, influential, and parodied sports dramas in all of cinema and for good reason. It's damn near the perfect popcorn film that stands the test of time.

I've only ever seen the original Rocky and the original Creed. Both were good but Rocky is obviously the better film.

I voted Rocky in the poll "Which is the best film in the Rocky franchise?".

It perfectly balances the gritty Philadelphia atmosphere with the classic underdog story that started it all. You see a raw, desperate boxer find his self-respect against Apollo Creed, which creates a grounded emotional core that, for me, the later, bigger-budget sequels never quite reached.

I also enjoyed Rocky IV and Creed.
