This is going to be spicy but hopefully it will be an exciting and clean race from both title contenders.

Ted Kravitz thinks Mercedes may give Hamilton a fresh engine and a 5 place grid drop to avoid the chance of Verstappen taking him out at the first corner. Theoretically starting 6th or 7th with a new PU he could win the GP without having to pass Max at any stage. Get his overtake done via an overcut or undercut.

Comes down to Friday practise and how quick the Merc is. Also depends on whether the new changes to layout actually help to overtake on a track notorious for "track position is king".

Seems a risk. Surely there's more chance he crashes in the middle of the pack starting the race? If the Mercedes is super fast then Bottas should be able to get P2 and act as a buffer. I wouldn't try to get too cute if I was Mercedes.

Horner almost sounds defeated. He seems very keen to push the plucky little Red Bull narrative with his David v Goliath shite and how they've performed miracles to be in this position going into the last race etc

I can't see anything other than Hamilton winning the Championship, to be honest. The Mercedes is too powerful.

Max is on provisional pole as it stands. Lewis looked to be fighting the car.

Well played by Red Bull, slipstreamed it perfectly.

Verstappen on pole. Hamilton second. Lando Norris will start 3rd and is joined on the second row by Perez. Bottas starts down in 6th place in his final race for Mercedes.

Surely not being on pole isn't that bad for Lewis? Max will be rapid on the softs so you'll be struggling to keep him behind either way. Lightning lap though from Red Bull.
