This race will tell us a lot of answers we still wonder about the different updates on all the cars!

Like Monaco, I would love some rain here too, but the chances are slim at the moment.

Just caught up with qualifying after watching the FA Cup Final.

No one is even close to Verstappen. Shame, because otherwise, it's an interesting list from 2nd to 20th, lots of surprises.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen took pole position in a Spanish Grand Prix qualifying full of incident and drama, including a collision between the Mercedes drivers.

George Russell was issued with a formal warning after moving over on Lewis Hamilton at close to 200mph on the straight in the second session and damaging Hamilton's front wing.

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz was second ahead of a remarkable performance from McLaren's Lando Norris in third on a grid that has six different teams in the top six places.

Sainz's team-mate Charles Leclerc was down in 19th place complaining of car problems.

Alpine's Pierre Gasly finished fourth fastest but was later dropped to 10th after receiving two three-place grid penalties for separate impeding incidents, first getting in the way of Sainz in Q1 and later holding up Verstappen.

Hamilton, who made it through to the final session despite the incident with his team-mate, therefore moved up to fourth place on the grid, with Aston Martin's Lance Stroll fifth.

Russell seems to be having a bit of a mini meltdown this weekend.

Leclerc was saying something was wrong with his car yesterday, and I saw a picture of the mechanics checking the car. Do we know if they figured anything out?

Storm clouds gathering, could be rain at times.

I'm just pleased we've got a 2 stop (dry tyres) race, the first of the season! Verstappen should win this at a canter, it's anyone's guess for the rest of the podium today.

Norris and Hamilton collide.

Norris is reporting damage!

Bandit Collaborator
That is Norris' race ruined as he pits at the end of lap 1

Verstappen is already 1.5 seconds ahead.

Landos own fault to be fair, not used to starting at the sharp end clearly
