Annual Covid Vaccine? General Chat

I got the letter on Sautday, my first jab will be in a couple of weeks.

Do you think we will have to get annual Covid vaccinations?

You know, like the flu jab?

Yeah definitely, with so many variations it'll be inevitable.

You will probably get a booster jab from September onwards too.

Pretty much a certainty and unlike the flu, I'll definitely be getting mine.

Yes, definitely. I reckon the vaccine will be available if you want it, just like the original flu shot.

I think so too. I'm still surprised how many people I speak with that won't get vaccinated citing "it'll change my genetic material" to "it'll make one sterile" to "it's implanting a nano-chip into your body"!!! I just laugh.

I wonder how they will feel when Covid passports are issued and they can't go do what they want.

Yes, I think there will be an annual vaccine and also a booster this autumn.

Not sure but given the way this thing mutates, it's a distinct possibility. Then again, the mRNA technology in Pfizer and Moderna developed out of an attempt to create a "universal" flu vaccine that would not require annual shots so who knows?

Yes, they'll probably be offered every year. The likelihood is, Covid is going to be seen as just a seasonal flu.

Apparently Pfizer's CEO has said that a booster is all but a certainty, if only to deal with variants.
