That's pretty awful stuff. Probably also takes Flores out of the running of any vacancies this year, at the least. Which is such a shame.
My gut feeling about the Ross and QB allegations is that he is telling the truth because I don't see how a coach that is supposed to be that disliked by the staff and players could make them turn things around the way they did. If anything I wouldn't be surprised if everyone knew what was happening behind the scene and tried their best to save his job.

The $100k per loss offer is another level. Ross should be forced out if that is proven.
So basically BB texted the wrong person and told Flores that Daboll was getting the Giants job before Flores had even had his interview. So they have been caught interviewing a minority candidate just to satisfy the Rooney Rule without that candidate actually getting a fair shot?

Ross is generally reviled in Miami and most fans have had enough of him. Wouldn't at all surprise me if most of this was true.
Those Belichick texts are the smoking gun that the rule was being blatantly ignored and that Flores was a token candidate
To be fair, I don't think the lack of black coaches is solely an NFL issue.
Patrick Vieira is the only black one in the Premier League at present, with Nuno starting the season at Spurs, and there hasn't been that may historically either. And theoretically there should be less barriers given the global popularity of soccer. Don't think there is many across the Champions League - I am not privy to the Eastern European clubs and their set-ups but I would wager racism is a lot more prevalent across those regions.
Race shouldn't come into competency for the job, but unfortunately it does.

So the Rooney Rule has been shown to not be robust enough? I'm not that shocked because I've always felt that some teams were box-ticking when hiring a Head Coach. Also, I'd be shocked if John Mara would allow his team to just do that. If there was a minority coach interviewed for the job before Flores then they have satisfied the rule as I understand it.
