The post raises an interesting question about cash usage but lacks detail on broader implications or personal opinions. It is on-topic but could benefit from more depth and engagement with the community.

Out of interest how many posters regularly carry and use cash, whether be shops cafes pubs etc.

I was in a taxi last night from town and the driver refused to take a card and insisted on cash only. Luckily enough, I had a tenner in my wallet or was gonna have to stop at a cashpoint, I had a similar experience a couple weeks back with a taxi driver again from town. I rarely use cash now, although sometimes still have £10 or £20 in my wallet.

Both, but more card. I still like to have a few quid in change on me too just in case.

I usually have a small amount of cash with me for an emergency, but other than that card every time and occasionally Google Pay

Honestly couldn't tell you the last time I used cash.

Could be literally > 6 months ago.

I still use cash sometimes, more out of neccessity than anything else though. My hairdresser only accepts cash and I have a few other cash-only outlets that I use regularly but the majority of my purchases are by card either in-store or online.

A mix of both but I use my card more often.

I use cash for public transport and usually if I'm buying small items, 1 or 2 things from a corner shop etc.
