Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
"Year by year, She erases us."

Once a year, the Paintress wakes and paints upon her monolith. Paints her cursed number. And everyone of that age turns to smoke and fades away. Year by year, that number ticks down and more of us are erased. Tomorrow she'll wake and paint "33." And tomorrow we depart on our final mission - Destroy the Paintress, so she can never paint death again. We are Expedition 33.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a ground-breaking turn-based RPG with unique real-time mechanics, making battles more immersive and addictive than ever. Explore a fantasy world inspired by Belle Époque France in which you battle devastating enemies.

Revealed at the Xbox Showcase 2024.

One of the highlights of the show for me, looks awesome.

This looks interesting and hasn't been on my radar at all. Turn-based RPG with real-time actions, looks stunning, and has a pretty stacked voice cast. Looks sort of like what I would hope a modern Final Fantasy would be. Weirdly it's being priced below what would be expected with $50 preorders going up instead of the usual $70, so maybe it's a shorter game than it looks.

Regardless, one to keep an eye on.

Played it for a few hours today, and it's great so far. Definitely worth a look for those with Game Pass, and even without, I'd probably still buy it anyway.

I'm about 10 hours into this so far, already one of my favourite games of all time. Reminds me of a mix between FFX and Sekiri, the combat system is one of the best I've played

The video I watched reminded me of the combat from Final Fantasy 10. The main reason I'm thinking about picking this up

This game is so good. I'll admit when I read some of the praise online I thought people were going overboard but no, it really is quality.

This is one of the best games I've played in a long time. It would be great if this were the future of gaming. Quality games for £40/50.

I'm actually going to buy it instead of playing on Game Pass.

What a beautiful game. I'm only 2 hours in, having just killed the first boss and already loving it.

It's great. Even when nothing is happening the music just keeps you plodding forward happily.

Finally finished this game. It was pretty difficult in the beginning, but pretty easy towards the end of the story.

I tried the "endgame" for a couple of hours, but didn't find it very enjoyable and just uninstalled the game.

I would have liked the game more with fewer Soulslike influences. The story and the gameplay were fine. I thought the music was a bit hit and miss, some songs were great, but I absolutely hated the tune that played in the overworld map.
