Dragon's Dogma II
Set forth on your grand adventure, Arisen!

Dragon's Dogma is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG series that challenges the players to choose their own experience – from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more. Now, in this long-awaited sequel, the deep, explorable fantasy world of Dragon's Dogma 2 awaits.

On your journey, you'll be joined by Pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure.

All of these elements are elevated further through physics technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and the latest in graphics, to create a truly immersive fantasy world in Dragon's Dogma 2.

I'm very hyped for this, I absolutely adored the first one and this looking fantastic.

Looking forward to it as the first game was great, not sure which starting class to go with though now they split Strider into Thief and Archer.

Really enjoying this, it's one of those hard to put down games. Think it's giving me nostalgic Skyrim vibes with the old school game play, low frame rate and the washed out world with dragons.

I'm really enjoying this, it's improved on the original in nearly every aspect.

The lack of fast travelling hasn't been an issue for me. I've found plenty of ferrystones and you can purchase them in certain shops (fairly expensive) which restock after a certain amount of in-game time. You still have to be economical with their use but combined with the oxcart fast travel, that allows instant travel to another town, I've been fast travelling over and back quite freely.

In saying that there is plenty of running about, mainly because when travelling on foot there are so many many caves off the beaten track and locations in the distance that I constantly get side-tracked. The sense of exploration is great, reminds me somewhat of Elden Ring.

At the beginning, your character's max weight limit is quite low which was frustrating as it impacts your speed but it didn't take long to become less bothersome once I found items and bought equipment that increased it, plus it seems to increase every fifth level too.

Performance has been alright, a couple of rare moments in the city when frames dropped to the teens for a few seconds but overall it hasn't been noticeable. I haven't come across any bugs and there's been no crashes so it's very good on that front, especially for such a large game.

Capcom has just detailed a list of upcoming fixes to the game.

In a tweet earlier today the Dragon's Dogma twitter account has outlined a series of planned fixes coming in the "near future".

For All Platforms (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam)
  • Adding the option to start a new game when save data already exists
  • Changing the number of "Art of Metamorphosis" items available at Pawn Guilds in the game to 99
  • Making the quest that allows players to acquire their ow dwelling (where they can save and rest) available earlier in the game
  • Miscellaneous text display fixes
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes
Updates for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5
  • Adding the option* to switch Motion Blur on/off in Options
  • Adding the option* to switch Ray Tracing on/off in Options
  • Adding the option to set Frame Rate to either Variable or Max 30fps in Options
*These options will not affect the frame rate significantly. Frame rate improvements are planned for future updates
Update for Steam
  • Improving quality when DLSS Super Resolution is enabled
  • Fixing an issue where models appeared low-quality under some specific settings
While this will not fix some of the larger frame drops during gameplay it should help those who do not have a Variable Refresh Rate enabled display by capping the FPS to 30.
