In a remarkable turn of events, Macclesfield Town, a non-league team, achieved a historic FA Cup upset by defeating the holders, Crystal Palace, in a thrilling 2-1 match. Macclesfield's win marks the first time a non-league team has eliminated the FA Cup holders since 1909, showcasing their determination and grit. This victory is particularly significant against the backdrop of Macclesfield's tumultuous recent history, including the club's dissolution in 2020 and subsequent resurrection. The result is one of the greatest moments in FA Cup history and possibly the biggest upset in the competition's history.

This round of the cup is my favourite for this reason. The "magic of the cup" is frequently scoffed at as by-gone times, but Macclesfield will have today forever. And if the reaction from supporters isn't magic, then scrap the competition.

Manchester United have been knocked out of the FA Cup after losing 2-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford.

More woes for the Red Devils.

The FA Cup fifth-round draw has produced some thrilling matchups that are sure to capture the attention of football fans. Wrexham, the club that recently returned to this stage of the competition for the first time since 1997, will host Premier League giants Chelsea after their impressive victory over Ipswich Town. This is a remarkable achievement for Wrexham, as they continue to demonstrate their competitive spirit.

Arsenal, who are keen to reclaim the FA Cup title they last held in 2020, will face League One's Mansfield Town, a side that has proven its mettle by defeating top-flight Burnley. This matchup highlights the unpredictable nature of cup competitions, in which lower-league teams can challenge established powers.

Other notable fixtures include Liverpool, the 2022 champions, travelling to Wolverhampton Wanderers, currently struggling at the bottom of the Premier League. Moreover, fans can look forward to an all-Premier League clash as Newcastle United take on Manchester City.

As we look forward to the weekend of March 7-8, here's the complete draw for the fifth round:

The FA Cup quarter-final draw has set the stage for some thrilling matchups as teams vie for a place in the semi-finals. Notably, Manchester City will host Liverpool, marking a rematch between the 2022 winners and the reigning champions from 2023. This encounter is undoubtedly the highlight of the round, given both teams' strong performances in recent years.

Chelsea will take on Port Vale at Stamford Bridge. Interestingly, Port Vale, currently at the bottom of League One, has made headlines with their unexpected victory over Sunderland, making them the lowest-ranked team still in contention. Meanwhile, Arsenal will face a challenging trip to Southampton, a second-tier side seeking to make a significant upset.

The quarter-finals are scheduled for the weekend of April 4-5, and the excitement is palpable as fans anticipate these matches. Here's a complete list of the quarter-final fixtures:

Man City, once again, won the FA Cup, beating Chelsea 1-0 in the final, thanks to a cheeky back-heel flick by Semenyo.

Not the best game, but finals are rarely classics; the goal, however, was worthy of winning any game.
