Will be interesting to see what Scotland's Finance Minister announces tomorrow and how, if anything, it differs from what Westminster announced.
Looks like the Scottish Government are just giving folks £150 if they are in Council Tax band A-D. Even those that are exempt from paying Council Tax will get the money, either paid directly into your bank or deducted from your Council Tax bill.

For anyone still using a tumble dryer - someone recommended these wool balls to me and they do work. My dryer has a sensor and it turns itself off when things are done and I have noticed it's drying things quicker than without the balls. I've noticed this more on big things like towels and bedding, and I've not had damp patches where things get rolled up. The only downside is it sound a bit loud with them in the dryer.

Pretty disappointing that they are only doing this.

Just got my new prices through from my supplier. Despite electricity being sourced from "renewable sources" my standing charge is going up over 30p per day to 48.9p with each unit going from 21.1p to 27.1p. Gas is going from 4.2p to 7.2p with standing charge going from 18.9p to 27.22p.

If you go anywhere else it'll not be any cheaper at the moment like. Is that for a new fixed price deal? If it is you'll probably be best just going onto their standard variable tariff.

Just got word today that my direct debit is increasing by an extra £39pm from April.

Mine is going up from £88 per month to £152. Utterly shocking, we have always been in credit all year round until the last few months.

Not a chance I'm going to be able afford the rise in October when my fixed tariff comes to an end so hopefully something happens before then.

We live in a 2 bedroom house. one of us is working from home so the kettle is on the boil a lot.

£190 for the last 2 months....for the same period last year we were £93 (and both of us were at home during that period).
