Amorim certainly had a good record in Portugal. His league record over 9 games this season is 9 wins, 33 goals scored and 2 conceded. His overall managerial record, on the whole, is also impressive

But, the Premier League is a different kettle of fish to the Portuguese league and there is a LOT of deadwood in the Manchester United squad. It will be interesting to see how he does.

Many people forget that Ten Hag brought Ajax to the Champions League semis. Don't get too hyped about Amorim. This club is just fundamentally broken.

Amorim is an exciting appointment and it is a real surprise that the club managed to get it done in the season.

It will be a big leap in quality levels for him in the Premier League. Whether or not Amorim will actually be successful is anyone's guess, of course. But he's on board, obviously has an impressive CV and is coming in at a time of very low expectations for the season so he gets a chance to experiment and test people to see what he can put together. The ideal scenario is great improvement quickly, a more realistic goal may be to see incremental improvement and a good run at the end of the season that can carry over into the next.

I think it's a good appointment. The only thing I find odd is that he wasn't amongst the managers they sounded out in the summer, before sticking with Ten Hag. Amorim was clearly speaking with several clubs at that time too.

Liverpool did due process and appointed Slot over Amorim, it will be interesting to see which club was right.

I don't know very much about Ruben Amorim but he seems to have been successful in Portugal.

It's going to be interesting to say the least but he's going to have his work cut out moulding this present group of misfiring players into his system of playing. We shall see, everyone thought ten Hag was a good appointment, and Mourinho too but they didn't bring the desired success.
