England have now nounceed there 26 man squad

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Man Utd), Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Jordan Pickford (Everton)

Defenders: John Stones (Man City), Luke Shaw (Man Utd), Harry Maguire (Man Utd), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kyle Walker (Man City), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Reece James (Chelsea), Conor Coady (Wolves), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid)

Midfielders: Mason Mount (Chelsea), Declan Rice (West Ham), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds)

Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Raheem Sterling (Man City), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Phil Foden (Man City), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

4 right backs is crazy in any scenario. I can't think of which situation you would ever go to the 4th RB, regardless of whether a RB can cover CB if required or further forward. And only 5 midfielders? Henderson has been injured a lot of late. Rice, Bellingham and Phillips aren't top level or experienced enough imo.

France have the best squad and will be hard to break down, will bully most teams out of it. Portugal and Italy will get close enough. Should be an interesting tournament but cannot see England going too far.

Belgium another vastly overrated side.

Spain midfielder Sergio Busquets has tested positive for COVID-19, the first player in a final EURO 2020 squad to do so.

Dutch midfielder Donny van der Beek has been ruled out of the tournament with an injury.

He has had a season to forget!

Just looking at the fixtures/venues and it would seem that some host countries have a fair advantage with them playing all three of their group stage games at home. Germany has 3 home games in Munich in the group of death, England gets three at Wembley. Denmark, Holland, Spain and Italy all have three home games as well. Scotland get two at home then away to Wembley whereas Wales are stuck on the far side of Europe playing between Baku and Bucharest. Will be interesting to see how much that effects things

With regards to England's preparation who do you think is a definite starter? I can only think Kane, Maguire (if fit), Chilwell and possibly Rashford.

My point being that at this stage Southgate's seems to have a number of attacking options to support Kane but nothing tried and tested.

I'd play Foden and Grealish and Rice but I think Southgate's defensive mindset could be his undoing.

I've gone with Germany to win it, if they get out of the group stages! Joachim Low's last tournament and probably the last chance for some of their biggest stars to shine and they have some good young players too - it is just getting out of the group of death!!

Team news for the opening game

Turkey XI: Cakir; Zeki Celik, Demiral, Soyuncu, Meras; Yokuslu, Tufan; Karaman, Calhanoglu, Yazici; Yilmaz.

Italy XI: Donnarumma; Florenzi, Bonucci, Chiellini, Spinazzola; Barella, Jorginho, Locatelli; Berardi, Immobile, Insigne.

Italy surely have enough for the Turks? I'm going 2-0 to the Azzurri!

Wales XI: Ward; Roberts, Mepham, Rodon, Davies; Allen, Morrell, Ramsey; Bale, Moore, James.

Switzerland XI: Sommer; Akanji, Schar, Elvedi; Rodriguez, Xhaka, Freuler, Mbabu; Shaqiri; Seferovic, Embolo.

I like the Swiss team a bit more but I wouldn't be surprised to see Bale produce something, maybe via a set-piece. I'll sit on the fence and say a draw.

This does not look good for Christian Eriksen.

This is absolutely horrific
