I have had a huge interest in maps and geography since I was a very small child.

So here's a little thread on maps that I find interesting and fascinating - some represent data, some physical features, others may display key routeways and connectivity and others again might show urbanisation and the growth patterns of cities.

I am generally fascinated with the way places and routes are related to each other in spatial terms, and I could pore over a good map for ages.

Here's one to start off. Feel free to add your own!

I should see if there is one like this for Canada. A very significant percentage of our population lives in a strip along the US border (within 2 hours of the border or something like that) with the rest of the country fairly low density save some pockets like Edmonton.

Monaco is the country with the oldest population in the world with a median age of 53.1 years – but this is roughly 3.5x higher than the median age of Niger, where it is just 15.4 years.
