Just finished the episode, it's a super bit of television this.

I did think a few episodes back that this would happen in some form, obviously minus the specific outcomes at the scene.

Winslet is so good.

Such a good episode! Incredible balance of high intensity drama, emotional backstories and a bit of comic relief. I laughed out loud at Mare and her mothers reaction in the car drive home after the wake.

Mare's mother is an excellent character and superb acting.

No no no!

This week was way more tense throughout. The intrigue of the Ross brothers and father and Lor was great entertainment. The way previously peripheral characters who we might have wondered about, like the drug addict, were resolved and left the focus on the principles in time for the finale.

Spoiler: What I think is happening

Billy is the patsy in my eyes. He's a drunk so doesnt know what hes done sometimes..his brother has convinced him hes actually the killer though he doesn't remember.

John then confides in his wife knowing she won't be able to keep it a secret from Mare

He takes his brother on a fishing trip and intends to kill him claiming something like self defense when he confronted him.

Mare has told her chief shes off to arrest Billy but the picture shows something she needs to know about. Billy may well be the father of the baby but I don't think he's the killer. Or John has just put two and two together and got 5 with his father saying he saw Billy covered in blood...and it is eithjer Dylan or Richard?

It is keeping us guessing right up to the last episode though which is always a sign of good writing

Final episode was fantastic.

Was wondering what else could happen in the episode once the arrest had been made. Thought it would just be personal stuff with Mare's family but the twist was amazing and heartbreaking.

Best thing I've seen in a long time.. constant twists and turns and just when you think you have it solved, along comes another twist. Just superb. I hope it wins every major award going
