Does anyone here have a Meta Quest 3?

How good is it, what do you use it for and is it worth paying ~£450 for?

Thanks.

It's absolute quality and a massive step up from the first Quest. Also have PSVR but the main benefit of course is the lack of wires and the fact that it's so easy to set up the play area etc though in fairness the Quest 1 was the same.

We mainly just use it for games and my daughter loves it. I know you can do other things with it but we've not really explored those.

It is quite a large outlay but if you can afford it then I think it's well worth it.

Got a Meta Quest 3. A few initial thoughts -

Passthrough quality was surprisingly poor, and very grainy, like the TVs from 1980s or 1990s.

It is quite confusing at the start to set everything up, definitely takes at least a few hours to grasp everything. I've just about set it up and dived into the first games straight away.

It came with a 49% charge, that evaporated in about one hour. I don't know if it's something specific that burns it, or if that's how it's meant to be. Charging it up now, hopeful, it's a quick charge. Tried to buy it with a charging station bundle, but they didn't have the charging dock in stock. It comes with a wall socket and 1 USB charging cable that's meant for a headset and both controllers. So you're charging 1 at a time, so yeah, I'm getting a charging station asap.

I couldn't set up my payment method on the mobile app or Meta Quest 3 itself. Kept saying unable to set up a payment method. I tried for about a good half hour, then just went on my laptop and did it straight away.

In the time I've used it so far, I stubbed my toe in a chair and punched a door and a clothing rack. I would recommend restraint at first :ROFLMAO:

I've bought Thrill of the Fight and Beat Saber so far. I got about 5 minutes of Thrill and through a 2 minute tutorial of Beat Saber before the battery gave up. Thrill of the Fight consumes a lot of space in your room, definitely have to be careful, but 5 minutes warmed me up quite nicely. Think punching is quite responsive, not too sure about blocking yet. Beat Saber looks like something I'll sink unhealthy (or healthy more like) hours.

Can't say if it's worth it or not, as I've only used it for an hour so far.

Oh, btw, it IS for the bairn
