Started a thread in TV but the Netflix Original animated series "Castlevania" is a great piece of dark fantasy. Vampire lord Dracula is enraged when his human wife is burnt at the stake and sets out to wipe out humanity in his realm. Dracula's son Alucard, Trevor Belmont, the last of a family of monster hunters, and Sypha, a young but powerful Seeker (more or less a wizard) team up against him. While it is adapted from the Castlevania videogame series (the first two seasons are based on Castlevania III apparently), it is an excellent show in its own right and no knowledge of the game is required. Especially fond of the show's Dracula. His two human forgemasters (basically necromancers) Isaac and Hector are quite well written and acted, too. Haven't watched the third season, which is pretty much a new story arc. Recommended if you like fantasy and want your vampires on the nasty side.

Wild Target. We watched it last night and enjoyed it very much. Fun, light hearted, and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb is a pretty good documentary if you are into Ancient Egypt or archaeology in general.

Watched Rose Island and really enjoyed it. Italian movie with subtitles, about a man who builds an island off the coast of Italy. Based on a true story.

The White Tiger is very good. New film about the relationship between a servant and his master in India. A much grittier Slumdog!

I Am A Killer. Only on the third episode of series one, its definitely compelling viewing.

It's very well made, simply presents the facts from both sides, the convict on death row, the police, and the victim's family. Some of the sentences when compared to UK law are an eyeopener (even when commuted).

Watched Mindhunter over the last few days. Was really good. Can't believe they aren't making a third season.

Death of Stalin.

A fantastic film filled with little idiosyncrasies that make it more entertaining.

His son, played brilliantly by Rupert Friend, is the stand out character for me

Great film

The Mitchells vs the Machines is brilliant for all the family and highly recommended.

Watched Sherpa over the weekend. It's a maddening watch. The entitlement of the summit tourists - I'm not going to call any of them mountaineers - is appalling. Fantastic documentary and a great insight into the lives of the Sherpa people that work the mountains but I was disgusted by their treatment.
