One Day (2024) TV Thread

I thought this was absolutely superb. Wasn't even going sit through the first episode but the two leads drew me in. The yearly, 20 year timespan makes it all the more impactful. Didn't expect it to hit so hard!

Another thumbs-up for One Day. Well made, easy going and a fantastic selection of songs. Very impressed with the two leading actors too. Going to read the book now.

Have to say after one episode of One Day not getting the hype at all.

No chemistry whatsoever between main two characters in this episode anyway, maybe it will improve.

Two fine displays by the main actors. Maybe 11 or 12 episodes would have been better I think, although they were pretty short. The music was spot on too. Well worth the watch.

Having read the book years ago I wasn't impressed with the film adaptation but I enjoyed this series.

I thought 14 episodes might have been too much but it's a perfect length. Also does something that most streamed shows don't take advantage of, treats each episode like a chapter so makes each episodes an appropriate length rather than a forced 40 minutes for each point.

Watched the first 3 episodes and it's really good. Has a similar vibe to the excellent Normal people with Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones.
