Oppenheimer (2023) Movie Thread

Watched this a couple days ago, great film.

A very good cast too. Murphy and RDJ were both brilliant.

Only realised after looking at IMDb after the movie that President Truman was played by Nolan's old trustee from the Batman era, Gary Oldman. Wonderful cameo.

Overall I thought it was fantastic even if the jumping from scene to scene took a little getting used to. The sound is incredible in parts, really what going to the cinema is all about. RDJ and Emily Blunt are brilliant, surely they will get a nomination here.

The Trinity test scene alone was worth the ticket price.

What an experience that was. Magnificent film. The use of music was sublime.

Brilliant stuff. Just brilliant.

Finally saw this yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Then, hours later I repaid the missus by going to see Barbie with her. Some come down that was from a Nolan epic.

I'm a bit late to the party it seems - but...

It felt like 3 different movies that tried to convince you they were actually one movie.

There were some very good bits, wonderful scenes, great acting in some parts, and impressive visual effects.

But I'm never ever watching this movie again.

A great night for Oppenheimer at the Golden Globes tonight with 5 wins out of 8 nominations.

• Best Director (Drama) - Christopher Nolan
• Best Performance in a Motion Picture (Drama) - Cillian Murphy
• Best Supporting Performance in a Motion Picture (Dama) - Robert Downey Jr.
• Best Original Score - Ludwig Göransson

We can now count it as the favorite for the Academy Awards in 2 months' time.
