Outriders
OUTRIDERS is a 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe.

As mankind bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch, you'll create your own Outrider and embark on a journey across the hostile planet.

With rich storytelling spanning a diverse world, you'll leave behind the slums and shanty towns of the First City and traverse forests, mountains and desert in the pursuit of a mysterious signal.

Combining intense gunplay with violent powers and an arsenal of increasingly twisted weaponry and gear-sets, OUTRIDERS offers countless hours of gameplay from one of the finest shooter developers in the industry – People Can Fly.

A JOURNEY OF DEATH
As mankind bleeds out in the trenches of Enoch, you must journey across the hostile alien planet in the pursuit of a mysterious signal that could save what's left of humanity. Should you survive, the powerful Ereshkigal will be your ultimate test.

FOUR UNIQUE CLASSES
Choose from four distinct classes, each with its own unique abilities to define your personal playstyle. Assassinate your enemies as the Trickster, incinerate them as the Pyromancer, punish them up close as the Devastator, or engage them at range as the Technomancer, master of heavy ordinance.

LOOK AND FEEL LEGENDARY
Equip yourself with twisted guns and gear with unique savage sci-fi designs made from heavy, brutal metal and feral organic materials. And transmog your appearance effortlessly to any piece of gear you've collected.

DEADLY BUILDCRAFTING
Discover countless builds to crush your enemies in new and unique ways. Fine-tune your loadout with hundreds of mods across your guns and gear, multiple class-based skill trees, and attribute points. Once your build is perfected, you can turn up the heat by increasing the world tier to face harder enemies and receive better loot.

APOCALYPTIC ENDGAME
Put your skills to the test in Expeditions: 18 hand-crafted endgame levels featuring unique mechanics and challenges. And even greater horrors await in The Trial of Tarya Gratar, an intense dungeon crawl with brutal bosses.

The post effectively provides detailed information about the Outriders demo, covering key aspects like platform availability, demo content, and gameplay mechanics. However, it could be slightly more concise to improve clarity.

Outriders demo gameplay feedback progression

Players express diverse opinions about the Outriders demo, with some enjoying the gameplay and character options while others critique level design. Many note the impressive demo content and progress carry-over to the full game, indicating a well-developed preview experience. Relevant feedback draws attention to both engaging and disappointing aspects of the demo.12

As posts unfold, discussions become more heated, especially regarding gameplay mechanics and the suitability for solo players. Some praise the combat system and loot, while others feel that the demo doesn't represent the full game well. The mixed responses reveal a split between fans of the genre and those looking for a more polished experience.34

Ultimately, the thread showcases a blend of enthusiasm and skepticism. While some players are excited about the demo's potential, others are left unconvinced, particularly about the level design and solo playability. With the full game's launch approaching, players remain curious about improvements and changes.56

"Towards the end started to see the build options for the game..."

"One thing to note, it's not a cover shooter..."

Verdict

The mixed feedback suggests players are divided on the demo's effectiveness. Unresolved concerns about gameplay mechanics and design persist as the full game approaches.

An Outriders demo is coming on February 25, and today, People Can Fly outlined what to expect.

The free demo for Outriders is coming to Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. If you want to play it on PS4, you will need a PlayStation Plus subscription. It will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The download size for the demo will be 24GB on PC, and a minimum 22GB on consoles, possibly more after decompression on both platforms. Pre-loading is not currently planned to be available for the demo.

Crossplay will be available in the demo, but it will be in beta form and will need to be manually enabled via settings. There is no time limit, either for playing or for accessing it prior to launch, and the demo will remain live beyond release.

In the demo, you can expect to play the game's prologue and opening chapter, which means the gear and enemies will be the early game variants. The further you get in the full Outriders story, the powerful both gear and enemies will become.

The demo runs up until the showdown with Gauss, the first rival Altered and some side missions will unlock after defeating Gauss so you will be able to go back and explore the world.

It also includes all four classes and six character slots, allowing you to try out all classes – character levels will be capped to Level 7. This will allow you to earn your class's fourth ability and be able to mix and match active skills. You will also be able to earn two skill points which can be applied to the skill tree. And you can progress up to World Tier 5.

World Tiers are a dynamic difficulty system, so at level 5, your chance for higher rarity gear is increased, but the drop chance for Legendary Gear is still extremely low.

Resources will be capped at a certain amount in order to "safeguard balancing" for when you go into the main game. Resources are mainly used within the crafting system, but they can also be traded for better gear from the armorers. The crafting system unlocks in the full game once you're beyond the demo content.

One cool thing is you will be able to transfer your progress if you play the main game on the same platform account, but progress will not transfer between the demo on Steam and the full game on the Epic Store. Don't expect trophies or achievements with the demo, but in-game accolades will transfer.

Outriders will release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC on April 1.

The demo is available now which is basically the 1st part of the game.

Progress carries over to the main game in April.

Outriders demo progress
In what's becoming increasingly rare, Outriders developer People Can Fly is actually making it possible for your progress in the demo to carry over to the full game. This includes your story progress, character levels, inventory, unlocks and so on.

The only caveat to this is that progress only sticks to the same platform. Despite Outriders supporting cross-play, it seemingly does not support cross-progression.

Outriders demo content
The Outriders demo includes a generous amount of content. For starters, all four classes will be available to choose from. All six character slots will be in the demo, too, meaning there's more than enough room to experiment and explore the different classes.

In terms of story content, you'll have access to the prologue and Outriders' opening chapter. You'll get to play right up to and including the confrontation with antagonist Gauss. After defeating them, more side content will become available, which you can also play.

Your character's level is capped at 7, and People Can Fly says that's enough to unlock four active abilities. You'll also get two skill points you can spend anywhere you like in the skill tree.

As for difficulty, only up to World Tier 5 is available in the demo. World Tiers are essentially difficulty levels, which you climb up/down through dynamically as you play. The better you do, the higher World Tiers you'll activate, and the more interesting the rewards become. There are also other limitations on resources and materials, which are in place to avoid cases where players grind out the demo and get a big advantage at launch.

Beyond that, the game's crafting system will not be part of the demo, so you'll have to make do with dropped loot.

Outriders demo cross-play
The Outriders demo supports cross-play between all of the game's platforms. The feature is being beta tested over the next couple of weeks, so you'll need to manually turn it on in the game's settings if you want to play with friends across different platforms.

Seeing as Outriders is an entirely PvE game, there hopefully shouldn't be any dismay about cross-play here.

To be fair, that's a pretty impressive demo package they've put together!

I enjoyed that, pre-ordered it last year so no "demo" expectations for me.

Towards the end started to see the build options for the game going forward, went with Pyro and my coop buddy went with devastator, enjoyable playing time.

Could improve a few things but 2 months till launch it should be fine, been a while since I played an actual demo of a game before it came out.

I'm just not convinced after about 3 hours but it really is only a snippet of the full game, well that's what I'm hoping.

Level design in quest areas ie where the fighting happens is very poor with all areas looking too similar. Not a huge issue if the combat is good which it is but a lot of the skills across characters seem to be just clones of each other in a disguise of different graphical effects.

Hopefully, the skill tree changes this but even here a lot of nodes are just % to this or that, even the main nodes don't look too impressive but again it's not until one starts to make builds and really theory craft before I'd like to fully judge it.

Played a bit yesterday, really enjoyed the combat. Hard to get a proper gauge on things with everything being quite limited but the loot looks promising as well as the skill trees. The cutscenes and voices seem a bit off but apart from that nothing that would bother me too much.

Finally played a bit of this. Went with the demolition build. TBH, you can easily tell it's not designed for single player. Most of these games that are akin to this are the same. They claim you can play it solo, but you know early on it wasn't made with single player in mind. Seemed alright story wise and aside from audio bugs and some rough looking graphics in parts, I reckon it could be a good co-op game. But not for me unfortunately.

I've been watching some people stream this, and its not blowing me away.

How has everyone elses opinion been of it?

I really like it but I'm a sucker for loot shooters if it's not your type of game classically then Outriders probably isn't going to be the one to convert you

I downloaded the full version yesterday and played for a little while. It was ok but nothing spectacular and is probably better played with others, it will definitely be a lot easier!

I've uninstalled it again but may go back to it at a later date.
