The post provides relevant information about the pay-per-view arrangement for Premier League games, but it could benefit from a more concise format and clearer separation of facts. Overall, it is informative but slightly lengthy.

Premier League games not selected for broadcast in October will be available to fans on a pay-per-view basis.

The five fixtures per round not already picked to be shown live, will be available on BT Sport Box Office or Sky Sports Box Office, priced at £14.95.
Clubs have agreed this "interim solution" to allow fans to continue watching their teams live.

Premier League clubs voted 19-1 in favour of the move, with Leicester City the only one to vote against it.

The move has drawn criticism from football supporters, while the Premier League said it and its clubs "remain committed to the safe return of fans as soon as possible".

Spectators have been unable to attend Premier League games since football was halted on 13 March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The top flight resumed on 17 June with the remaining 92 games of last season being played behind closed doors and the opening games of this season have followed suit.

The Premier League and UK government had hoped to bring fans back into stadiums from 1 October but those plans were scrapped following an increase in coronavirus cases.

Sky Sports managing director Rob Webster said: "Our subscribers still get more than 140 of the very best matches, while supporters of individual clubs won't have to miss out on any games during this period."

BT Sport said fans without a subscription would still be able to access their Box Office service.

Former Manchester United and England right-back Gary Neville, now a Sky pundit, said on social media it was a "really bad move" by the Premier League.

In a statement, the Football Supporters' Association urged broadcasters to "reconsider their pricing".

"Today's announcement shows that fan power works," the FSA said. "At the start of this season the Premier League and its broadcasters had planned to leave match-going fans entirely locked out of their side's matches; now thanks to the sustained pressure of our #LetUsWatch campaign all games will be available for fans.

"Many Premier League clubs have already taken money from fans for matches they can't attend, so we urge them to get refunds out to those supporters as soon as possible, particularly season ticket holders."

£14.95 per match...I don't think so. They would get so many more I would think if they charged a reasonable fee such as a fiver a match or something. £15 is way OTT.

You can be sure the "big" games which would normally be on Sky and BT will suddenly be PPV next month when this continues.

This is insane. Isn't it over £80 per month for Sky now with the sports packs? And now another £14.95 if the powers that be don't choose your team for the normal TV coverage.

Absolutely extortionate price. Problem is, many people will pay it and they deserve to watch a 0-0 for their stupidity.

It was always inevitable the Premier League would introduce this kind of model, but a subscription-based model would've been much more sensible. I think people would pay a monthly/yearly fee for an On-Demand service for Premier League games. It's a proven model that works in other sports - particularly US Sports (MLB TV, NFL Game Pass etc) and F1.

They're so behind the times in adopting a digital strategy and now, when they finally do, it's an archaic pricing model, more akin to that of Sky.

Illegal streaming will increase even more and more power to those trying to fight this carry-on.

Will this new pay per view be a long term gig?

Absolutely crazy price point. It just shows how out of touch the Premier League and Sky are with the ordinary people.

Anyone who has Sky & BT is already paying £100+ a month for their TV. If on average each club has 2 games on PPV a month, Sky are expecting people to pay 40% more?

Scandalous.

This is just disgusting. The wages, transfer fees, agent fees they just can't be justified, football desperately needs a reset. Now PPV football is last straw

The standard Sky package with Sky, BT and Premier Sports is around £90-£100 per month?

Now throw an extra £15-£30 on this each month when your team is only on PPV.

You want to watch in HD since you have a nice tv? That's another £10 please, even though HD was introduced 15 years ago we're still treating it as something 'special'.

As much as £140 per month to get all the games.

That is what kills me. It's having to pay a flat monthly rate, then be lumped with fees for anything extra that should really be inclusive like HD.

I haven't seen a single plug for these extra games on Sky Sports. All their "coming up this weekend" previews running up to this weekend only mentioned the normal games and the Old Firm Derby.

Looks to me they are pretty much abandoning the concept, which would tie in with the idea that it was EPL driven rather than something Sky/BT saw as a potential way to make money.
