High-protein snacks are a great way to keep energy levels stable and support muscle recovery, especially on busy days. For those following a vegan lifestyle, it can sometimes be tricky to find options that are both quick to prepare and nutritionally balanced.

Some ideas that work well include hummus with fresh vegetables, nut butter on rice cakes, chia seed pudding, protein-rich vegan bars, and seasoned tofu crumbles. These snacks are not only satisfying but can also be made in minutes.

Here are some easy, protein-rich vegan snack ideas that require little effort:
  • Hummus with Veggies - A versatile dip that pairs well with carrot sticks, bell pepper slices, cucumber, or even wholegrain crackers.
  • Nut Butter Rice Cakes - Spread almond, cashew, or peanut butter on rice cakes for a crunchy, satisfying option.
  • Chia Seed Pudding - Combine chia seeds with plant-based milk, let it sit overnight, and top with fresh fruit for added flavour and nutrients.
  • Vegan Protein Bars - Choose store-bought or homemade bars packed with nuts, seeds, and plant-based protein powder.
  • Seasoned Tofu Crumble - Lightly season and crumble firm tofu to use as a topping for salads, wraps, or grain bowls.
What other quick, high-protein vegan snacks do you enjoy? Let's share ideas so we can all add more variety to our snack routines. Recipes are also welcome :)

Tempeh strips are amazing when lightly pan-fried with soy sauce and ginger. They're chewy, flavourful, and keep well in the fridge for quick reheating.

One of my favourite quick snacks is roasted edamame, and it's ridiculously easy to prepare.

I buy frozen shelled edamame, toss them with a little olive oil, sea salt, and smoked paprika, then spread them on a baking tray. Bake at 200°C for about 15 minutes, shaking halfway through. The result is a crunchy, savoury snack that's loaded with protein and fibre. I make a big batch and store it in a jar - it stays fresh for 2–3 days, so it's perfect for snacking between meals.

Oh, Wanted Wanted! I've never tried smoked paprika on edamame - that sounds amazing. I usually just go with plain salt, but adding that smoky element could make it feel like a whole new snack.
