Sam Neill has passed away šŸ™

He was in some fantastic films and TV series.

A statement from Neill's family says: "It is with immense sadness that the whānau [extended family] of Sam Neill share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney, Australia.

"Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life.

"The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free.

"They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent's Private Hospital for their incredible care.

"More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss."

In the Mouth of Madness was one of his best performances. Especially the scene when he starts screaming on the coach. Brilliant actor.

Aw man, he'd just recently been cleared of cancer.

Starred in some very enjoyable films. Loved him in Peaky Blinders and just been watching him in a courtroom drama called The Twelve.

Sad news indeed. Jurassic Park is fantastic and in my top 5 movies of all time. RIP Sam Neill.

In an interview years ago, he was asked how he would commit a murder...

Ah such a shame, he had a presence on screen and off. After his long fight with cancer and getting the all clear, even more sad, he will not get to enjoy that time.

This popped up in an article, excerpt from an interview with Sam Neill:

Sam Neill: The last time I watched [Jurassic Park] in its entirety was sitting beside Princess Di at the London premiere. On the other side of me was my 11-year old son Tim who was 11 and completely swept away by it. But about the time the T-Rex shows up, Tim started to fart, and the smell was drifting across me to royalty! I spent the whole film in a muck sweat thinking "Princess Di is being exposed to the horrors of a little boy's fart but she's going to think it's me. I'm going to be subliminally blamed for my son's crimes and I don't think she's going to speak to me afterwards." But she was well brought up and never mentioned it.

Jeff Goldblum: I love that story, Sam. I've heard him tell that a couple of times, and it's just amazing the lengths that he will go to still blame the boy.

It seems that the late Sam Neill is set to make an appearance in the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, in what could be his final on-screen role.

The film has been generating a lot of chatter lately, especially with the announcement of the actor who will portray the notorious antagonist, Ganondorf. While details about the plot remain under wraps, the inclusion of Sam Neill adds a poignant touch to the project, considering his recent passing.

Fans of both Neill and the Zelda franchise are eager to see how his character will fit into this iconic world. The anticipation is palpable as we await more information about the film's release and the roles of other cast members.
