What a film, did Ralph Fiennes ever get an Oscar for his performance as Amon Goth? He was too real like.

No, Tommy Lee Jones won it for The Fugitive.

Film Fact. Auschwitz wouldn't let Spielberg film inside the site so to keep authenticity he built the whole set used in the film directly outside it.

Watched a few weeks ago (over the Christmas period), first time since seeing it at the cinema back in 1994. Couldn't bring myself to watch it again since then because it was such a powerful movie that effected me for years. First time I remember an audience clapping in the cinema when the end credits rolled.

Watching it again it is still harrowing, moving and emotional. Liam Neeson has never played a finer role since in my opinion and Fiennes was unbelievable as the sadistic camp commander. Both deserved Oscars for still stunning performances.

The little red coated girl still haunts me the most about the movie. Possibly because these atrocities happened in reality to millions across Europe

I watched this movie some years back and I really enjoyed it as sad as it was. I normally never watch a movie twice but this is one that would be on my list to do just that.

I watched the film again a few years after release and just before visiting Kraków and going to Auschwitz. Something I think everyone should experience. Harrowing place and emotional. What gets me is the Holocaust happened less than 100 years. Absolute barbaric

I was in Krakow in November 2019, did the Auschwitz and Birkenau trip. The same thing got me as well, could not believe how recent it was and how people could be so evil. Think reality is worse than anything that they can portray in a film and can't imagine the pain and suffering those people went through.
