SILENT HILL 2
Having received a letter from his deceased wife, James heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her...

"My name… is Maria," the woman smiles. Her face, her voice... She's just like her.

Experience a master class in psychological horror―lauded as the best in the series―on the latest hardware with chilling visuals and visceral sounds.

With ray tracing and other cutting-edge technical enhancements, the world of SILENT HILL and its unsettling ambience is even more real than before.

And with the inclusion of new, immersive soundscapes, you'll feel like you're standing in the thick of it.

Explore locations and buildings that were once inaccessible, or are newly added in the remake.

Enjoy the same acclaimed story, even while you experience the town of Silent Hill with fresh eyes across an expanded map.

The remake moves from the original's fixed-camera viewpoints to an over-the-shoulder perspective, putting you closer to what James sees, for a more thrilling, more immersive experience as you explore the town and come face-to-face with monsters.

Familiar weapons like the steel pipe and handgun make their return, but now with an updated combat system.

Avoid attacks with carefully timed dodges, aim down sights, and more, making monster encounters more engaging and nerve-wracking than ever.

The post expresses a personal opinion but lacks detail and context about the Bloober team’s involvement with Silent Hill 2. It would benefit from more information to enhance its relevance and helpfulness to the community.

I know a lot of people don't have faith in the Bloober team, but they are working with some original people, I am cautiously optimistic.

The original Silent Hill games were landmark titles. So I'm definitely interested in this.

But I kinda wish they were doing a reboot of the series to give us a fresh story/start. Maybe if it works out well they will. That'll be awesome.

Shame they skipped the original Silent Hill, now there's a game that could really use a remake. It was always going to be Silent Hill 2, though, by far the most popular game in the series. It's still one of my favourite horror games of all time as well.

It's Konami, so obviously everyone should be very cautious about this one. I also don't really trust Bloober Team to put out a quality title. Despite ticking all the boxes for me on paper, I found The Medium to be a distinctly average game. I'm not expecting much, to be honest.

Sony has confirmed that the Silent Hill 2 remake will be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive for one year.

First spotted by Eurogamer, a new trailer on PlayStation's YouTube channel covers the "immersion" Silent Hill 2 features on PS5, with the end of the trailer stating the game as a PS5 console exclusive "not available on other formats until 10.08.2025"

Those other formats are, of course, Xbox Series X|S but could potentially include the Nintendo Switch successor console as well. That partnership with Sony has resulted in more than just exclusivity, as the game fully supports the features of the DualSense controller – haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and the lightbar.

Just saw some of the review scores!!

Absolutely did not expect it given the trailers looked unpolished and janky.

Delighted as SH2 holds a special place in my gaming memory. An absolute all timer.

Perfect game for October/Halloween. I often play the original around this time.

I have to admit I didn't expect much from Bloober, so given the reviews and scores this is a pleasant surprise.

Never played the original Silent Hill 2 and wasn't sold on the early trailers and general discourse but might actually give this a go.

Genuinely finding it terrifying, I can't play for an extended period because the anxiety if through the roof.
