Fuse Games' CEO Matt Webster has confirmed that Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be a premium release devoid of a season pass model. This decision comes in the wake of past controversies surrounding monetisation in games, notably the backlash from Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Webster articulated the studio's commitment to providing a self-contained experience with a campaign, arcade mode, and multiplayer features right at launch. He expressed a clear stance that season passes are typically associated with free-to-play models, which contrasts with their aim of delivering a comprehensive game experience from the outset.

Creative director Kieran Crimmins echoed this sentiment, emphasising their focus on creating the best possible game without immediate plans for additional monetisation post-launch. While the team acknowledges the evolving nature of the Star Wars franchise, they intend to concentrate on delivering a complete package initially.

Set to release on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC this year, Star Wars: Galactic Racer follows a character named Shade as they navigate the Galactic League, aiming to dethrone Kestar Bool. Players will have the ability to customise various vehicles and race across diverse planets, including Ando Prime and Jakku.

The Star Wars: Galactic Racer release date is slated for October 6, 2026. The game will launch on PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5.
