The old model Steamdeck has been removed excluding the 256GB model which has dropped in price to £349, the same price as the prior 64gb model.

The two variants of the OLED model are available at the previous price points of 256GB and 512GB models, £479 and £569, and have 512GB and 1TB of storage.

The discontinued 64GB and 512GB models are currently on clearance until stock is exhausted at £349 and £389 respectively.

OLED model looks lovely and a solid mid-gen update but can't really justify an upgrade at that price, tempting though it is. Seems like it'd be 100% the way to go for a new owner though.

Just order the OLED model. Took about 10 minutes to get through with the demand. Listed as 3-5 working day delivery.

Always been in the back of mind interested to buy one, but would I be right in assuming this probably isnt worth it if your library is mostly RTS/management sims etc

What do people who have one play on it?

Valve has announced that the Steam Deck OLED will experience intermittent stock shortages in the U.S. due to ongoing memory and storage supply issues. As of now, the gaming handheld has been unavailable for several days, and Valve's update sheds light on the challenges they face in maintaining inventory levels.

This RAM crisis comes on the heels of Valve postponing the release of other devices, including the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller, which were initially slated for early 2026. Valve cited the need to finalise pricing and launch dates while remaining aware of the rapidly changing market conditions.

Additionally, Valve has discontinued the production of the 256GB LCD version of the Steam Deck, focusing exclusively on the OLED model in the future.

Steam Deck OLED prices will see an increase in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan starting March 6th. This decision, announced by Komodo Station, Valve's Asian distributor, comes in response to "increased logistics costs and shifting exchange rate conditions." While these hikes may cause some concern among potential buyers, the increases are not astronomical when compared to current prices in other regions.

For instance, the 512GB OLED model's price in Japan will rise from ¥84,800 to ¥99,800 (approximately £474/$637), which is close to the UK price but notably higher than the US price of $549. Similarly, the 1TB model will increase from ¥99,800 to ¥114,800, translating to around £545/$733, again positioning it near UK pricing but significantly more than in the US.

Other regions like South Korea and Taiwan will also see respective hikes, though prices in Hong Kong will remain unchanged, suggesting a nuanced approach to pricing that may not signal a universal trend.

The factors driving these increases include ongoing issues like logistics challenges and potential memory shortages, which have plagued the tech industry recently. However, it remains unclear if these changes in Asia will foreshadow similar price adjustments in the US or UK markets, or if they reflect localised economic conditions.

While the price rises for the Steam Deck OLED in select Asian markets may be troubling, they do not currently indicate a broader shift in pricing strategy for Valve's flagship handheld. This situation warrants close observation as it unfolds.
