Batman trailer casting runtime story

Initial reactions to the trailer are overwhelmingly positive, with viewers expressing excitement about the film's tone and style. The cast, particularly Robert Pattinson and Colin Farrell, has generated a mix of intrigue and praise among fans.12

As discussions progress, some viewers express concerns about the film's length and potential comparisons to Nolan's trilogy, while others champion its distinct approach. The Batman's gothic atmosphere and emphasis on detective work have resonated with many.34

Post-viewing discussions highlight strong performances and the film's noir elements, but opinions on its runtime vary, with some suggesting it could be trimmed. Overall, it seems to stand as a noteworthy entry in the Batman saga.56

"Robert Pattinson is a pretty great actor... makes a far better bat."

"To me, The Batman looks like a return to actual Batman."

Verdict

While varied opinions on the film's length and comparisons to previous Batman adaptations persist, it appears to successfully re-establish Batman's essence. Many are eager for potential future stories.

I really didn't like Nolan's trilogy, Batman Begins felt like the only Batman film in it to me with the 2 sequels being generic action man films (yes, minority opinion I'm sure). To me, The Batman looks like a return to actual Batman and I couldn't be more excited.

It won't top Nolan's Batman for me. But I look forward to seeing this in the cinema. Fighting scenes are brilliant. Farrell looks and sounds great.

Great trailer and incredible soundtrack.

They're on track to deliver an actual genuinely excellent movie that can both equal and stand apart from Batman Begins or The Dark Knight.

Surprised to see the budget is only $110m. That's a relatively low budget for a film of this gravitas, and way, way lower than any of the Nolan Batman outings - it's actually the same size as the budget allocated to Batman Forever in 1995.

I'd be shocked if Pattinson doesn't put in an astounding performance, he's a top tier actor, a fact that has, to be fair, been increasingly recognised in recent years.

One on my list of "must-see" films for 2022.

The Batman runs for "nearly three hours with credits"

For me, anything three hours and under works as long as the story itself is served by the runtime. If it were over three hours, then such a film would need to be a special case in my view.

I know that Matt Reeves was fighting the studio for a longer cut, so hopefully this means that the end result is more in line with his vision for the film.

If it's good I wouldn't give two hoots about the running time. Might as well be 5 hrs if it is brilliant!

I thought it was brilliant. Very different to what's gone before but very much in the Batman lore. Really enjoyed it.

Absolutely miles ahead of anything DC related since The Dark Knight. There is a bit of fatigue with Batman at this stage and it's hard to keep it original and fresh but this did a very good job (although at times it did remind me a lot of the first two Nolan films, which isn't a bad thing)

Direction, cinematography, lighting, costumes, soundtrack, performances were all superb. The story was for the most part very well done too.

I thought Pattinson was a very good Batman + Bruce Wayne, great supporting cast too.

Very good movie. Far better than the recent DC muck.

Does it ever not rain in Gotham? 😆

Loved the music for it. Set the tone right.

Does it beat The Dark Knight? No. It does not. But it's still a very good decent Batman film.

I thought Pattinson would be a terrible choice for Batman. Probably because of the Twilight films. Glad I was wrong. He fit the role very well.

Has some cracking reviews. I'm usually well up for a Batman film but just not terribly enthusiastic about this one. Will probably enjoy it though.
