Looking forward to watching this. The book was excellent, I hope the TV adaptation does it justice.

From what I understand

Dr. Sophia Craven and Victoria Burkeman are the same person. Victoria was abused for years by her father, Ben, who actually murdered her childhood friend and her daughter (which she had to her father after he impregnated her), and he blames her for both of their deaths. Victoria is what Dr. Sophia Craven looked like when she was a teenager.

There will be at least another season, possibly more, as it is based on a trilogy of books. So, hopefully, things become less messy as the story progresses.

I started to watch the second season. Made it to the end of the first episode, but I won't be watching any more. Did not enjoy it.
