Trump now basically calling Fauci an idiot.

His guy, Dr Atlas, says no to masks.

This administration needs to end.
Saw yesterday that Fauci, a former avid runner and still very fit 79 year old who still walks for fitness, has had a security team appointed to him because of threats made against him by people who said he undermined Trump.

That's where the US is in 2020.

So I've not been keeping up on the madness that is the American political scene the last few days like I normally do because there are more important things to concentrate on here at home. But the bits I have seen it looks like it's gotten even more insane if that were possible.

Trump seems really scared of the 60 minutes interview from his continued tweets about it. It must have gone off the charts terribly for him, even compared to the other disastrous recent interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if they release their own cut of it in advance of Sunday, which will in turn just draw more eyes and discussion to the actual interview for what he leaves out.

They released pictures of a giant prop book that is supposed to show his actions on healthcare and if you look closely it looks like there is no text in the book, just blank pages.

Edit

Trump has actually released the 60 Minutes interview on Facebook.

So far it's just Don responding to most of the things with "It's unfair", "You wouldn't ask Joe Biden that question" and shouting conspiracy theories at the host. It's fascinating.

Good lord, such a heap of nonsense. He was totally focused on arguing whether the interviewer was being nice to him, and repeating his mantras that he concentrates on, mostly about how unfair everyone is to him. He did not offer a single coherent policy or argument, just went off on tangents and denied everything. I did skip bits of it because honestly listening to such pointless whinging is more than anyone should have to waste time on.

I just can't imagine anyone - in almost any situation - moaning on about difficult questions. It's absolutely amazing. Walks onstage to Macho Man then sulks because some reporter/interviewer isn't fawning towards him

He's not talking to you or me, he's only ever talking to the people who accept everything he says without question whether that contradicts other things he previously said or not. It's fascinating in many ways.

I think his narcissism leads him to believe that people are sympathetic to him

You'd think by now he'd understand that the President is going to be asked tough questions, it's pretty much what the job is.

I see Mike Pence's Chief of Staff has tested positive, Mr Pence is still going to campaign despite been close to the C.O.S. as recently as Friday.

One problem I have with Trump is that he goes on TV regularly commenting about the amount of testing for Covid-19 being done as driving up the figures. It is NOT driving up the figures of those infected. The only thing driving up the figures is the Covid-19 virus.

Mark Meadows, Chief of Staff, basically said today they have given up trying to stop the spread of coronavirus, the only plan is to try to limit the number of deaths. That's it. That is the plan.

They don't believe in masks, they don't believe they can do much to stop it spreading.

People can die, or become seriously ill, is that a price worth paying?
