Delta Force: Hawk Ops dropped a new, explosive trailer

As promised, Delta Force: Hawk Ops dropped a new trailer during Summer Game Fest's opening showcase. This one was teased a couple of weeks ago, if you've been keeping up, so we were happy to see it on the show.

The shooter continues to look very promising, with modern visuals and a beefy package that includes campaign and several multiplayer modes - even if we could do without the character-based abilities.

The trailer showed off much of what you'd expect - plenty of gunfire - and gave us a Global PC Alpha Test penned for July.

Though it might carry the name of the legendary PC tactical shooter franchise, Delta Force: Hawk Ops is not a follow-up or reboot. In reality, this is a game of two halves, a multiplayer component with combined arms combat and hero abilities that's quite similar to Battlefield 2042, and a narrative campaign inspired by Black Hawk Down.

The multiplayer side is the one generating the most interest, for obvious reasons. As a free-to-play Battlefield competitor, it's well positioned to disrupt the shooter scene, especially because it also has an extraction game mode.

From the Xbox Showcase at the Summer Showcase

DOOM: The Dark Ages | Official Trailer 1 | Coming 2025 - Xbox Games Showcase 2024

After a few leaks, Doom: The Dark Ages has been officially announced as the next game game in the shooter series.

The Xbox Showcase has brought us a first look at iD Software's highly-anticipated next project. It's sadly not a Quake reboot as many of us had hoped, but you'd known that would be the case if you've been keeping up with leaks and rumours.

Doom: The Dark Ages is the studio's next game, a project that's reportedly been in development for around four years.

State of Decay 3
After first being revealed four years ago, State of Decay 3 finally received a new trailer at today's Xbox Games Showcase.

It's been quite a while since we last saw anything of State of Decay 3, as the announcement trailer back in 2020 is the only thing that's been shown for it, and that was just a CG trailer. But now, developer Undead Labs has finally offered up a full reveal of the upcoming threequel, even showing off some gameplay. You can watch the trailer below, which shows off a bit of the world through a tasty cinematic.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard gets stunning new trailer

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has just popped up with a new trailer at the Xbox Showcase, giving us our first ever look at Bioware's next big release. This also came with a release target, with the game set to launch in this fall.

Being shown off in LA as part of Summer Game Fest 2024, this is the first real showcase of the game since its reveal a few years ago. Aside from scarce info drops and the recent name-change, there's been little info to pick through until today.

Fallout 76 to introduce playable ghouls for the first time in series history in early 2025

Fallout 76 is set to introduce playable ghouls as a standalone update coming in early 2025, in what'll be a first for the series. Yep, all those years you've spent in Appalachia dreaming of being exempt from worrying about radiation, you'll have the option to bring them to an end soon.

It's a cool time for Bethesda to be introducing this in 76, given how much everyone loved Walton Goggins' ghoulified presence in Amazon's Fallout TV show, the second season of which is already in the works. It's also fitting because, in addition to being able to rock his outfit right now, a lot of Appalachia's most hardened veterans probably feel like they've amassed just as much wasteland weathering as Cooper Howard by this point.

Expedition 33 gets a stunning reveal trailer at the Xbox Showcase

A brand-new game was just shown off during the Xbox Showcase. Expedition 33 is an turn-based RPG set in a ficitonal world with an evil paintress, and it launches in 2025 on Xbox and Game Pass.

Coming from Xbox Game Studios, it was the first new game shown off this year as part of Xbox's presence at Summer Game Fest 2024. You can watch the trailer yourself below!

South of Midnight looks stunning and bizarre

South of Midnight, the next project from Compulsion Games, the team behind Contrast and We Happy Few, has debut a first look at its gameplay as part of the Xbox Showcase. The stunning, American South-set game is very much action-heavy.

Gameplay looked especially fluid, with combo-based action and fast traversal system that allows the protagonist to zip around the world. The game has a warm autumnal look, and cuts between gameplay and cinematics quite smoothly.

We won't be playing it for a while yet, as it does not yet have a release date - but it is launching at some point next year.

A New Perfect Dark Inbound

In a surprise appearance, Perfect Dark has returned in a stunning trailer shown off during the Xbox showcase. We finally get a peak at some gameplay, including some sneaking, action, and some beautiful cityscapes to explore. It's also playable day one on Game Pass.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty Black Ops 6
  • All-new Campaign set in the Gulf War era
  • 12 new 6v6 maps & 4 new Strike maps at launch
  • Return of Round-Based Zombies
"Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops."

We already know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is launching day one on Xbox Game Pass, and now we have a launch date! The next Black Ops title arrives for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on October 25th, 2024.

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred coming October

One of the better reveals during tonight's Xbox Showcase came from Blizzard, and it was the opening cinematic of Diablo 4's first expansion: Vessel of Hatred. The expansion was initially teased last year, and it's launching October 8.

The opening cinematic is as impressive as we've come to expect from Blizzard. There was sadly no gameplay to be seen here - though we do know that Vessel of Hatred is adding a new region to explore - Nahantu, and a new class that's never been in a Diablo game before - the Spiritborn.

Fable pops up with a new gameplay trailer

The new Fable game has made another appearance, this time at the Xbox Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2024! This came in the form of a new trailer, showing gameplay, dialogue, and a giant toad. The game is coming to Xbox, PC, and Game Pass in 2025, and is launching on Game Pass too!

This mix of cinematics and gameplay finally give us a good idea of what the game will actually play like, all in the narration established in the first trailer. Tongue in cheek, and damn exciting!

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater new gameplay trailer

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater just received a brand new gameplay trailer, and Naked Snake's mission has never looked more thrilling.

Earlier today at the Xbox Games Showcase, Konami debuted a new action-packed trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, setting up the plot of the stealth game. The trailer began showing Naked Snake setting off on his mission into the jungle, including an insistence on procuring all his gear on site - certainly a tough deal.

A surprise Starfield patch is coming today and new DLC details

Starfield is getting a surprise patch filled with new gear, locations, and both Bethesda- and player-made add-ons later today, June 9. As part of the Xbox Games Showcase live show, we also got a fresh look at story expansion Starfield: Shattered Space, which dials up the space horror so hard that it almost looks like a different RPG.

A brief sizzle reel for the surprise updates showed off some more space suits, a pretty hefty laser cannon, new bounties to hunt, and a smattering of custom content including planetary fixtures.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure - coming October 29 to PC and Xbox

Max is back in Life is Strange: Double Exposure. This timeline-warping murder mystery is set to launch on October 29 on PC and Xbox.

The trailer, which you can watch below, was shown during the Xbox Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2024. In it, we see some good ol' fashioned walking and talking, emotional moments, and tense drama. The foundation this series was built on.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is taking off this November

You wouldn't expect something like Microsoft Flight Simulator to be a game to get a full-on sequel, but as it announced last year, it's getting one, and during today's Xbox Games Showcase, it was confirmed to be releasing on November 19. The trailer for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which you can check out below, unsurprisingly showed off a whole bunch of different aircrafts flying around stunning places from around the world.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Bethesda and MachineGames offered up a fresh look at Indiana Jones and the Great Circle today.

MachineGames' take on the classic film series Indiana Jones has been a long time coming (it was announced way back in 2021, if you can believe it), and though it remains on track for release later this year, The Great Circle still doesn't have a release date.

We got another look at gameplay, as well as a cinematic featuring an encounter with the campy Nazi villain (an Indy tradition). The footage showed an adventure in a snowy environment, and the game continues to look stunning - even better than the last time we saw it. You can check out the trailer for yourself below.

Avowed, Obsidian's own take on The Elder Scrolls, gets new gamplay trailer

The latest trailer for Obsidian Entertainment's Avowed is here, bringing with it new gameplay to goggle over, but no release date as of yet

After announcing that Avowed would be releasing sometime this fall earlier this year, Obsidian Entertainment showed at Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase a bit of the action we can expect to mess around with come later this year when it eventually launches on Xbox and PC. Alas, we'll have to wait a little longer to mark our calendars.

Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel to the original trilogy

A new Gears of War game has just been announced. Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel to the original trilogy, taking us back to the initial events of the world-wrecking war when the Locust emerged from the earth. There's no release date as of yet, but we know it's launching on Game Pass when it eventually comes out.

Assassin's Creed: Shadow

Experience an epic historical action-adventure story set in Feudal Japan! Become a lethal shinobi assassin and a powerful, legendary samurai as you explore a beautiful open world.

Assassin's Creed Shadows just debuted its first gameplay look at Naoe, one of the upcoming game's two protagonists.

Assassin's Creed Shadows splits its runtime between Japanese history's first recorded Black Samurai, Yasuke, and a more traditionally sneaky assassin in the form of Naoe. The latest Xbox Games Showcase trailer shows both of our protagonists in action as they show off some wildly different move sets.
