Not watched the first episode yet but looking forward to it

Always been an iffy prospect about turning a video game into a movie/TV show. It rarely works to an entirely successful level, if at all. But I was pleasantly surprised by this. Although the game is very influenced by film and TV media in the first place, so it's probably a more natural revolution for it to pivot to the TV screen than it is for most computer entertainment.

The Witcher was also quite successful until they decided to stop adapting and create their own story. Pretty much any story driven game can be turned into a series with minimal rewriting.

The standout so far though was Anna Torv as Tess, who stole the episode for me.

And yeah Anna Torv can steal any show

Brilliant first episode I thought, some scenes seemed like they were pulled straight from the game but still enough going on to be it on thing, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are perfectly cast, hope the rest of the season is as good as that first episode.

I thought it was decent but not outstanding like the reviews/ratings have suggested.

Only one episode out so far (the second airs today), but it's very good and set things up nicely. It also follows the source material of the game pretty much to the letter which was great, because the start of the game was one of the best ever.

You don't need to be a gamer or have knowledge of the game to enjoy this though.

The Last of Us has officially been renewed for a second season

It's no surprise really. The Last of Us is HBO's second-largest debut since 2010, and a whopping 18 million people have now watched the premiere episode in the US alone.

Confirming the news, the show's official Twitter account wrote, "The journey continues. The Last of Us will return for another season on HBO."

Second episode was great. Would also recommend the HBO accompanying podcast. I much prefer this week by week release than the whole binge thing. Gives you a chance to really savour each episode. Really looking forward to the next one.

I really wanted to wait all the episodes to come out before starting it, but last night I couldn't resist, saw the first 2 episodes. Exceptionally well done, really enjoyed it. I have some reservations regarding the actress that plays Ellie but we will see...
