Craig Mazin, the creative mind behind HBO's adaptation of The Last of Us, has officially confirmed that the series is mapped out for four seasons. In a recent interview, he emphasised that there's "no way" to wrap up the story in just three seasons, and this aligns with previous discussions about the series' potential length.

Mazin first hinted at the possibility of a four-season plan back in 2023, suggesting that while the show could end up being three or five seasons, four felt like the most fitting number. He acknowledged that the storytelling will dictate the number of episodes per season, with some requiring more and others fewer.
