The NFL has revealed the finalists for eight of the Associated Press' awards that will have winners announced at the 12th annual NFL Honors ceremony on Feb. 9.

The fact defensive players have zero shot at MVP makes me think they should trash the award. It's just another offensive POTY award. Honestly, it's just a "Best QB of the Year" award. Justin Jefferson getting nominated is nice but there's zero shot he wins, just like Cooper Kupp last year. He's just a token non-QB to make it seem like the award is not just for QBs now, but we all know it is.

Dan Campbell and Zac Taylor should have been added to the COY nominations. Campbell would be my choice for COY.

• Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named Most Valuable Player.
• San Francisco 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa was named Defensive Player of the Year.
• Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was named Offensive Player of the Year.
• DeMeco Ryans, who served as the 49ers defensive coordinator during the 2022-23 season, was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
• New York Giants coach Brian Daboll was named Coach of the Year
• Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith was named the Comeback Player of the Year.
• New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson and cornerback Sauce Gardner were named the NFL's offensive and defensive rookies of the year.
• Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott received the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
