Peter Millar's 1989 the Berlin Wall: My Part in Its Downfall about his time in East Berlin as a Times journalist at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of East Germany.

Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb

This is the final book in the Farseer Trilogy and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series. Quite an unusual, not-so-happyish ending which is refreshing.

'Murder by the Minster' by Helen Cox. A Kim Hartley Yorkshire mystery. My local library had a display of her books set up, and I thought I'd give the first one a try.

I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas for the first time. Classic adventure set during the Napoleonic era in France. It's a big book and I'm halfway through but enjoying it so far.
In my opinion, one of the greatest stories ever told. The only book I have read twice and also listened to the audio of it online.

Class book. Would recommend The Three Musketeers if you enjoy The Count. It's not as long big as The Count but a great story.

Agent Sonya by Ben Macintyre

Extraordinary read that is fast paced yet detailed to perfection. This is the true story of a female spy in WW2 for the Soviet Union and despite the large number of people involved in her story (handlers, lovers, her own cell of spies and family), Macintyre gives just the right amount of pertinent detail on each without it becoming cumbersome.

Finished 'The Enemy' by Lee Child & 'Shadow of the Dragon' by Tom Clancy.

Currently reading 'Splinter Cell: Checkmate' by David Michaels & Tom Clancy. Great read for anybody who played the games, it's bringing me back decades.

I am so jealous. I would love to be discovering that world all over again

Finished Mean Baby by Selma Blair on Sunday.

It's an autobiography, and the title is what people called her when she was a kid who liked biting people. Then she grew up in a fairly successful actress who still liked to bite people sometimes (just ask Seth MacFarlane). Selma has been in the news more recently for entirely different reasons (MS) but that's not the most interesting thing about the book.

It's a helluva story and she's a good writer.

Finished John Connolly's A Wolf in Winter another great addition to his Charlie Parker thriller and suspense series. His mix of myth, legend and the supernatural is brilliantly done alongside the thriller and suspense nature of the book.

Donna Collaborator
Cold, Cold Bones by Kathy Reichs

This is the latest novel in the Temperance Brennan series and it doesn't disappoint with the theme of a copycat killer mimicking cases from Tempe's past
