I have just finished Sue Townsend's The Woman Who Went To Bed For A Year ........ a laugh-a-page and one of the funniest books that I've read. Highly recommended

I really enjoyed that. I'm on a similar bid to cover a massive topic in a relatively confined space:Power and Thrones: A New History of the Middle Ages by Dan Jones.
Of course I would choose a fairly sizable book to read during a very busy period at work. But I finally got through it and got to say I really enjoyed reading about the Black Death, definitely the standout chapter to me. I've never thought of reading on the topic before but I am feeling inspired to do so, think I'll need to source some further reading on this.
I'm thinking of getting 'All the Light We Cannot See' it's coming to Netflix at some stage. I will also get his other book 'Cloud Cuckoo Land' they've both got good reviewsJust read Anthony Doerr's "All The Light We Cannot See". Really enjoyed it.
Duffy & Son is up next.
I adored Blood Orange but it's the author's peak. I wouldn't recommend her subsequent novels, which is a real shame. The 2nd is ok, the 3rd "It Ends at Midnight" is not great at all.I've been reading 'Blood Orange' by Harriet Tyce on my Kindle. It is exceptionally good and I've still got 50 odd pages to go.
