Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Sam is back in his tactical suit and goggles, more lethal and agile than ever. Granted the freedom to do whatever it takes to stop the Blacklist, he races across the globe to uncover the source of this devastating threat.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist builds on the franchise's stealth roots while expanding into action and adventure. Players can define their own playstyle and are rewarded accordingly:
  • Ghost players remain undetected.
  • Assault players confront threats head-on.
  • Panther players strike silently and lethally with precision.
Take down the Engineers using advanced gadgets like the upgraded Snake Cam and the Micro-trirotor Drone. Fan favourites return, including the Sticky Shocker and the brutal curved Karambit knife. Stealth enthusiasts can abduct and carry enemies, while the Killing in Motion system lets players mark and execute multiple targets in one fluid, cinematic move.

Sam is forming a new Echelon unit: his team, his rules. Anna "Grim" Grímsdóttir returns as technical operations manager, CIA operative Isaac Briggs brings firepower, and hacker Charlie Cole rounds out the crew. Fourth Echelon operates from the Paladin, a repurposed stealth airliner equipped with unlimited resources and cutting-edge tech.

The post lacks detail and context about the game experience, making it less engaging for the community. It provides minimal information, which could benefit from elaboration on specific missions or aspects of the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Been playing through this. I'm positive I've completed it before but I can only remember bits and pieces of missions.

The game holds up quite well from a gameplay perspective, and while the design is a bit dated, it is still more than capable of competing against many of today's games.

You probably know the deal already, but basically, you, as Sam Fisher, and your crew have to track down the leader of a terrorist organisation while also navigating the political landscape that inevitably leads Sam and his team to go rogue to stop said terrorist organisation.

There were some nice story touches, from simple interaction and banter with your team to their actual side stories.

The quests and both the side stories and the overarching campaign were pretty well written overall.

Blacklist kind of modernised the Splinter Cell approach to stealth and combat, providing many ways to accomplish the same goal, be it silent and unseen, or as a mass murderer killing everyone around. That said, while your approach can be as varied as you like, Blacklist does something similar to what Hitman Absolution did, which was to include a more action-oriented emphasis to the game. Yes, you can and should still creep around, climbing over stuff and what have you, ambushing your targets or (when allowed) avoiding them completely, but ultimately, choice is taken from you at times through the campaign, and you will, for example, have to run and gun a bit.

OK, the more I play of this, the less I remember so maybe I haven't completed it or maybe even played it before.

I'm on the mission just after you prevent the plane from crashing by ditching the helicopter - definitely cannot remember anything like that.

Great game though. This is the kind of game I love and miss.

Great game. I wish they would revive the franchise either with a remake or a completely new entry.

Completed it. Definitely cannot remember the final boss fight so I think probably never played it. Some of the familiar enemies, locations etc are probably just from previous Splinter Cell games.

I honestly don't know why the Splinter Cell games haven't been considered for a remake or a new entry in the series.
