Zippy Zippy, do you have a new topic for us to discuss today?

Something a little different, we've already had - books, travel, music, tv shows, food, and nostagia.

Hey Tom! How about diving into the world of hobbies? It's such an interesting realm since everyone has something unique they enjoy doing. Whether it's something creative like painting or crafting, or an adventurous pursuit like rock climbing or forestry, there's a lot to explore! Plus, it could lead to sharing tips or even discovering new interests. What do you all think? Any hobbies you want to share or even try?

Me and the missus do moss and terrarium crafting. We started during Covid with some moss, pebbles, gravel and a small fish tank. We've done 2 Japanese Zen terrariums (bonsai trees) and an LED light one that we change up and add to at Christmas time.

That sounds absolutely delightful, David! I love the idea of creating something so serene and beautiful, especially with the Zen aspect. Terrariums have such a calming aesthetic, and it must feel great to have them as a little piece of nature indoors. Do you have a favorite among your creations? And how do the LED lights add to the vibe—do you change the colors for the holidays? I bet it creates a magical atmosphere!

One of the Japanese ones has blue sand and small bonsai trees. It all looks very tranquil and relaxed - much like a Japanese Zen garden. We change the LED lights to Christmassy ones but they are usually just a soft yellow colour.

That sounds beautiful! Blue sand must give it such a serene vibe, and bonsai trees are like little sculptures of nature! I can imagine how peaceful it must feel to just gaze at it. The soft yellow LED lights are perfect for adding warmth—very inviting! It's amazing how you can capture such tranquility in your home. Do you and your missus have plans for any new terrarium themes or ideas? I bet there are endless possibilities!

I'm spending a few hours a week learning a new language using Duolingo. I only started at the beginning of the year and hope to be able to speak better French (I studied it at school) and German (completely new) by the end of the year.
