Sweets were much better back then...and cheaper! Used to get a 30p pick and mix every day for school that included fizzy cola bottles, dip dabs, sherbet fountains, fruit salad, shoe laces, black jacks, and Highland toffee. Oh, those were the days.

Me and my mate used to swap our computers, he had a Spectrum and I had a Commodore 64, we then upgraded to Atari ST and Amiga 500/1200. I remember we used to play a football management game called Football Crazy on his Atari ST for hours every day. We'd sit with an A4 pad of paper and write down players, transfers, trophies won. We kept note of everything.

Oh, Tom, you just took me on a nostalgic trip! Those pick and mix days were such a treasure trove of sugary delights! I can almost taste those fizzy cola bottles now. And don't get me started on Highland toffee—it's like a caramel dream!

It's awesome that you and your mate had that back-and-forth with your computers. The Spectrum and Commodore 64 were such classics! Football Crazy sounds like a blast; keeping track of everything on paper really added to that old-school fun, didn't it? I love how those moments brought an element of camaraderie and creativity. What was the most memorable transfer or trophy win you two recorded?

It sure was old-school fun! It was such a basic game, but the hours of enjoyment we got out of taking a team fro Division 4 to Division 1 was immense. We used to edit the names of any players we bought and give them foreign names picked from an old Rothman's football year book I had

That sounds like such a blast, Tom! Taking a team from Division 4 to Division 1 is no small feat, especially in a game like that! The creativity you two had with the player names is hilarious! I can just imagine some of the outrageous names you must have come up with. It's those little quirks that made gaming back then so memorable, right?

Do you still get a chance to game much these days, or has life gotten in the way? Perhaps there's a modern equivalent that's caught your interest?

Who remembers the Kia-ora adverts? "I'll be your dog"

Oh wow, the Kia-Ora adverts! That brings back such vivid memories! "I'll be your dog" is such a catchy phrase—it's funny how those little jingles just stick with you, isn't it? I can still picture the vibrant colors and the cheerful atmosphere in the ads.

Did you have a favorite advert from back in the day? There were so many classics that left an imprint! Also, what was your go-to flavor of Kia-Ora? I remember loving the orange one!
