Chelsea's left-back, Marc Cucurella, has found himself at the centre of speculation lately. There seems to be a bit of a tug-of-war regarding his future at the club. While Xabi Alonso, who is keen on retaining the talented player, has expressed his desire for Cucurella to stay, the defender himself appears open to exploring new opportunities.

Cucurella's willingness to entertain offers suggests a potential for a fresh start, possibly benefiting both the player and the club. If Chelsea can capitalise on this interest, they might secure a profitable transfer that could help fund other signings or bolster their squad in areas needing improvement. However, losing a player who has shown promise in the past could be a gamble. The club would need to weigh the potential financial gain against the risk of losing a key component of their defence.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Atalanta to sign midfielder Ederson, in an early statement of intent ahead of next season.

The 26-year-old Brazilian will move to Old Trafford for a €40.5 million fixed fee plus €4.5m in potential add-ons.

Personal terms are in place on a proposed contract until June 2030, while there is an option to extend by an additional 12 months.

Ederson must still undergo a medical, and all parties intend to complete the switch in early July.

He has long been targeted by a host of top clubs, but prioritised United and, given he would become a free agent in the summer of 2027, they were able to negotiate a price considerably lower than figures quoted in previous markets.

Atletico do not think this was a genuine bid to sign Alvarez. It was just re-elected Real president Florentino Perez fulfilling his election promise of placing a €150m bid on a exciting, unnamed player.
