Undisputed (2024)
Boxing isn't just about throwing punches. The ring is a strategic battlefield where fighters can choose an angle of attack, set up traps, and outsmart opponents through clever tactics. That's why we've added several layers of fight mechanics to Undisputed, giving more control than ever to master the Sweet Science.
  • Play through the epic journey from amateur boxing tournaments, all the way to becoming Undisputed Champion, in the true-to-life Career Mode.
  • Create your own fighter with Character Creator, customising everything from build, to tattoos, to shorts and gloves.
  • Revolutionary footwork mechanics, including a Loose Movement toggle to help you get around the ring with ease, and Flat-Footed Movement when your stamina drops.
  • More than 60 individual punches. Punch from multiple angles and directions. Feint to set up a trap and counter.
  • All the tools needed to be a defensive wizard. Slip punches, weave, dodge, and block.
  • Physics driven interactions, so punches can sometimes go around or even through the guard.
  • Up close and personal inside fighting like never before.
  • Manage stamina over the course of a fight with the Adrenaline system.
  • 50 Attributes & Traits to differentiate styles and capabilities of fighters.
  • Multiple AI styles and difficulty settings for everyone from amateurs to pound-for-pound masters.

Been so hyped for this, but the Xbox Store feedback is terrible.

I've added the live game stream to show what it is like.

  • Steel City Interactive releases surprise update for Undisputed on November 14.
  • Patch notes include changes to block functionality to reduce power punch spam, Deontay Wilder nerf, and more.
  • Second Undisputed still planned for mid-December with new features, improvements, and content.
Undisputed developer Steel City Interactive has surprised fans with a new patch update after previously stating that the boxing title would not be updated until mid-December. Despite being in early access for almost two years before its full release in October, Undisputed launched with a myriad of bugs and balancing issues that have plagued the game for weeks now. But following the release of today's update, fans should see a noticeable difference in their gameplay experience.

Patch Notes for November 14 Update
  • Changes to the block colliders to ensure that block functions as expected and the number of power punches that break through the block is greatly reduced.
  • Deontay Wilder's stats have been reduced, and we've removed a trait. His power hooks should now be less impactful.
  • Increased max stamina cost of hooks and straights.
  • Increased the cost of power punches to both short-term and max stamina.
  • Introduced a threshold on the number of power punches that can be thrown within a single fight before the stamina cost per power punch is increased further.
  • Increased the stamina cost of pushing, which should reduce the amount of people spamming the push mechanic.
  • Temporarily removed the critical stumble reaction from the game as it was too punishing.
  • Reduced the effectiveness and chainability of hooks by further slowing them down when a fighter is gassed.
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent players from moving if they entered flat-footed movement while fighting on the inside.
  • On Xbox and PC Steam: Ranked quitters should now receive a loss on their record, and the remaining player should receive a win. The fix for PlayStation is taking longer than we'd like and will hopefully be part of the December update.

Some people are happy with this update, but others aren't saying that it affects stamina too much the other way now.

I'm tempted to buy though because I think they are committed to making a decent and playable game.

I picked up the box version and I'm really enjoying it. Probably appeals more to boxing nerds like myself as there's bits to do outside the actual fights.

I won an amateur tournament and I'm 5-0 (3 KOs) as a pro cruiserweight so far.

This game is unplayable online. Far too many bugs and more seem to have been introduced with the latest update.

It says a lot for a company to release paid DLC before addressing the core issues with the game.

Last week, Steel City Interactive released patch 1.2 for consoles and PC, adding free stuff to all owners. Those on consoles, you should see this as Undisputed update 1.002 (or 01.002.00 if you want to get technical), with the complete patch notes for base game owners available below.

New Venues
  • Added Cambrian Hall. Located in the heart of England's Capital and draped in rich boxing history, fighting at this venue is every prospect's dream.
  • Added Atlantis, an underwater aquarium-like venue, located on the ocean bed. Can you keep your composure in the ring when you're deep under water?
New Cosmetics
  • All players will receive an additional free outfit for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk – recreate their historic first fight in all its glory with their fight-accurate outfits.
Career Mode
  • Introduced the ability for players to move up and down a weight class from their starting weight class. We know this is one a lot of you have been asking for and we're excited to see you step up to the challenge of becoming Undisputed in not one, not two, but three weight classes with the same fighter!
  • Introduced the esteemed boxing correspondent Gareth A Davies to the Career Mode media feed, the first in a series of real-life media figures and brands.
  • Made a range of quality-of-life improvements to the career mode's UI.
General Changes
  • Introduced Cruiserweight, Bantamweight, and Light Heavyweight queues to online quick fight and online ranked.
  • Added new knockdown and knockout animations.
  • Added an animation that plays when a fighter's block health has been depleted, giving players better visual feedback during gameplay.
  • Slightly reduced stamina cost on missed punches and power punches to make combination and pressure fighting a more viable option.
  • Made a range of quality-of-life improvements to game audio and commentary.
  • Made performance optimisations to custom characters.
  • Fixed an issue that meant players that quit out of online games on PlayStation weren't being punished, and the win was not being correctly awarded to the remaining player. This now works as expected.
  • Many other bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

The studio also acknowledged the issue preventing players from progressing weeks in career mode, and they are currently working on a fix, though no timetable has been set for it.

This game is a turd. A big fat turd!

Fighting someone last night, they threw a punch from about 10 feet away, obviously missed me but somehow it knocked me clean out. Absolutely pathetic. Every patch update makes the game worse.

It seems like Steel City Interactive has made a significant decision; the team has announced they will be halting support for the game to focus on developing a sequel. This is quite a shift, especially considering Undisputed has only been out since 2024 after spending nearly two years in early access.

The developers are clearly looking to the future. They've stated that their attention will now be fully on the upcoming sequel, which comes with some exciting news: they're bringing in talent from big names like Rockstar and EA Sports. This could mean a significant boost in quality and innovation for the new game, given the experience these new team members bring along.

It's not uncommon in the gaming industry for developers to pivot toward new projects, especially when they believe they can create something even better. By refocusing their efforts, Steel City Interactive seems to be aiming to deliver a sequel that could surpass its predecessor in every way possible.
