New show from David Simon and some familiar faces and setting for all fans of The Wire

New trailer, looking forward to this.

Looks good. Probably the closest we will ever get to a season 6 of The Wire.

Look forward to seeing this too.

I'd highly recommend the book this series is based on. It was only about £3 on the Kindle store.

It is scary the stuff they were getting up to.

Good first episode.

Bernthal is so compelling.

Finished watching and I thought it was mostly excellent. It's a fascinating and grim true story, astounding what they were up to for years and from what I've read they actually toned it down a bit for this show. The civil rights part of the story was making some important points but felt a bit shoehorned in. Also, the time jumps got to be a bit much, especially in the last couple of episodes when you spent the first few moments of a scene trying to figure out what time period it was.

Finished this recently. There is a bunch of "The Wire" people involved, which is always nice. Not as good of course (the show feels more like a TV show instead of real-life docureality like The Wire) but it was good for sure.

Based on a true story about a corrupt Baltimore Police special unit. It also covers a bit of Trump coming into power and the dismantling of civil rights institutions in the US.
