This is the new one from David Robert Mitchell of It Follows fame, but it looks far more family friendly than I would have liked. I get real Super 8 vibes off the trailer, which perhaps shouldn't surprise given Abrams' involvement.

Getting decent enough reviews for a dinosaur film in 2026. Might be tempted to go see this.

I watched last night and despite thinking it was largely terrible in pretty much everything it did I still enjoyed it and thought it was an entertaining enough watch.

You do have to suspend your disbelief though, so many weird things and things unexplained.

Starring Adam Driver as a young Senate staffer, tasked with investigating 'Enhanced Interrogation Techniques' (aka torture) by the CIA after 9/11. After learning that the CIA destroyed video tapes of their handling of detainees, he follows the paper trail instead.

Driver is excellent, as is Annette Benning as his boss, Senator Feinstein. It's a fantastic political thriller.

Watched it the other day, and the first hour or so was a bit slow, but the rest of the movie was epic. I do think some of the casting choices were odd - Tom Holland was quite weak in his role, for example.

Saw it last night with relatively high expectations after seeing all the hype and reviews over the last week or so.

Decent, but I had expected a lot more.

I would have preferred some fresher faces in the casting - this is more a personal thing, but I just find it hard to really buy into Matt Damon as Odysseus when I already know that face as a bunch of other characters from other films.

The pacing was rough. It's hard trying to cram 24 books of source material into a single film. Still, it felt like the film never gives itself a chance to breathe - it's just one thing after another after another.

New Paul Greengrass directed film about the Peasant's Revolt.

Not going to lie, this was red meat for the boys when it came on as a trailer prior to the Odyssey. It looks fantastic (will probably be panned, now I've created a thread).

I'm hoping that this is a resurgence of films set in this time period, but significantly improved. Very much looking forward to it.

I decided to read the book before the movie comes out and, well, it's a lot. If Ortega does Klara justice, she'll enjoy the awards season.

Watiti has said (in Empire) that he's stripped back some of his comedic tendencies and that it's not a comedy.

To try and make this a silly movie undermined a lot of what Klara is about. This story's a drama. Once I realised that, it made it a lot easier. No screaming goats!
