Jude Bellingham has won the 2023 Golden Boy award - given to the best under-21 player in Europe's top flights. This award comes after he was recognised as the best under-21 player in world football at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in October. "I'd like to thank everyone who has been part of my journey so far at Birmingham, Dortmund and now Madrid. It wouldn't be possible without them," he said. "Lastly and most importantly my family who give me the support and motivation and love every day to keep striving. "Now I have this prestigious award I want to keep going. I want to keep pushing the limits of my potential and hopefully many more trophies to come."

Yeah, when Argentina won the World Cup there was always only going to be one winner and I don't see anything wrong with that. The only real rival to Messi was Haaland who had a remarkable season with Man City. The number of votes the top 10 received have been revealed
Good second half, really enjoyed it. South Africa had to play Scotland, Ireland, England, France and New Zealand. They beat them all except Ireland. No other team has played fixtures like that to win it. So they deserve to be World Champions again. Would of absolutely loved to see the All Blacks manage it though.
A great player and a truly lovely man by all accounts. Anyone interested in understanding Bobby Charlton should watch the film "United" - about the Munich crash and despite a dodgy representation of Sir Matt Busby it is a lovely illustration of the joy the Busy Babes brought to football the true connection with their community that that generation had and the devastation of having survived when so many others did not.
Former WBC World Champion Tony Bellew sent a message of support to KSI following his controversial loss to Tommy Fury. “I’ve spoken to him, JJ is a lovely kid, the kid works hard. It's funny how we don't have outrage when celebrities wanna play a game of football. “Why are we absolutely raging when celebrities want to have a boxing match? These journalists or even boxers coming out and saying, 'It's a disgrace.' Why is it a disgrace? They're not taking money off your table. “It's insane people's rage towards them, I just don't get it at all. Fair play to them." " Do you know how many kids they are attracting to boxing gyms? I give them so much credit for that". An interesting take by Bellew on influencer boxing.
Fantastic!! Would love to go to Germany, I'll need to talk nice to Eily! Steve Clarke has been the best Scotland manager for a long time, probably since Craig Brown or Walter Smith. We've no real superstars though we do now have a few players playing at the highest level in the Premier League and Champions League - we badly lack in attacking options though with none of our strikers plying their trade in the top leagues, so to not only qualify but qualify with some style is a great achievement.
The United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland have been announced as hosts of the 2028 European Championship. The UEFA executive committee gave the green light to the five-nation bid at a UEFA meeting in Switzerland on Tuesday. The bid ran unopposed after Turkey withdrew from the bidding process last week. The UK and Republic of Ireland tournament will be played at ten different stadiums across the five nations. Six of the venues are in England, with one each from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The six in England are Wembley, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Etihad Stadium, St James’ Park, Villa Park and Everton’s proposed new home at Bramley-Moore Dock. A redeveloped Casement Park in Belfast, the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Hampden Park in Glasgow and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff are the other stadiums set to host games.
